Understanding and Managing Holiday Stress

The holidays are often a time when we focus on others, by sending cards, buying gifts, and cooking food, but during high stress times it is more important than ever to find time for you.

Which is why it's all bullshite. The person responsible for Christmas being celebrated taught that people should be focusing on others everyday.

I believe my esteemed colleague avoided religious piety in her paper to focus on regular moms & dads.

I'm not even religious. But, the holiday is.

Helping people manage stress from November through January likely motivated this paper.

People would be less stressful if they focuses on others all year round, not just during Christmas.

"focused"

I agree.

My friend's paper wasn't preachy, it was just submitted as an outlet, to let the average person know that it's ok to step away and take a breath.

Pleasing a horde of relatives, a flock of rascal children, and a spouse can be overwhelming. Especially when you put the "make sure everything is perfect" pressure on yourself.

After the last of my grandparents had passed away, my family decided to travel each year at Christmas. Some years we went on cruises and other years we rented a vacation home somewhere. We relax, watch football and Christmas movies, play games, and enjoy the time together. No shopping, no decorating. Much less holiday stress.

What would the holiday season be without the airing of grievances?
