I completely agree. But in this case, I hope the judge looks at the logos, calls Magic Hat a bunch of retards and throws out the case.

Its a possibility. I just think to vilify someone who made every effort to solve this amicably isnt right.

I like #9, and the Single Chair that you can only get in VT is good too.

Fair enough.

Also on a side note. This could probably be its own thread but everyone.... and I mean everyone should tune into Kentucky Sports Radio on Friday because Charles (Dead Give Away) Ramsey is going to be on the show live taking phone calls from Eastern Kentucky. It will be a glorious half hour of radio I can guarantee that.

The problem I have with it is the fact that the logos are completely dissimilar. Magic Hat is using their pocketbook to muscle a smaller brewer to change THEIR logo, over bullshite "it looks too similar" arguments. So, if Magic Hat has the right to "protect their brand logo" then West Street should be able to do the same by telling them to frick off.

How do we know they did? They're saying they did, but did they really reach out?

On West Sixths Facebook page it says that they did in fact talk to them. Three or four months ago. Then they heard nothing from them until they received notification of the lawsuit. Thats when West Sixth threw their hands in the air and said frick it this should go viral.

They also cant afford to pay lawyers to battle it out in court. It will literally put them under.

There's no telling what was said in those "discussions". Having dealt with Universities over logos and that sort of thing on a website, I've seen big corporations act like complete asses in "discussions" and give you absolutely no room to negotiate. Most of the time it's not even worth the trouble of fighting them back.

And that's a shame really. Because the logo isn't even similar.

Magic Hat better take a look at their Cucumber Hibiscus Ale then...the Mountain Dew folk might want to talk to them about it.

Magic Hat isn't even very good.

Plus they're basically saying that their customers are too stupid to know the difference between their logo and another that isn't even similar.

Yeah those look absolutely nothing alike. This isn't about "brand protection" unless you assume that the average Magic Hat consumer is a barely literate knuckle dragger who has to have his shoes tied for him in the morning.
