You can find great restaurants anywhere.
It's hard to find the abundance and variety of quality everywhere. There's a reason NOLA is considered a world class food city.

I'm sure native Louisianians eat at Commander's Palace every night and never go to BWW.
The only chain I hit in NOLA is Rally's. Chains are really hard to find in the city if they aren't fast food.

Oh and the stretch of I-10 from Bham to Atlanta plus Atlanta traffic ruin GA.
The masters is racist and sexist.

Whatever, hbt. I've dated black men. My guess is that you've never dated a black woman. Eat a dick.

You can not find the number and variety of restaurants in New Orleans. Throw in the little shacks with fresh seafood and old swampy motherfrickers fixing up some down home cooking and you got a pretty unique mix.
Truth. I have no problem conceding this.

Okay that's true, but you're still taking the argument out of context. I never said Louisiana (specifically New Orleans) restaurants weren't much better than Georgia restaurants. I merely said you can find restaurants everywhere. New Orleans is probably the best food city in the states. No denying that, and I wasn't trying to.

If you try to take I-10 from Birmingham to Atlanta, you're going to have a bad time.

Yes, that stretch of I-10 in Georgia is terrible
I'm sure you meant I-20, just busting your balls

I concede golf to them because of the masters. we have some good courses and we are getting better ones but that is one point we lose.

Yes I-20.
The move to New Orleans killed me. I recently turned onto I-10 trying to go to bham for some reason.

Savannah vs NOLA
I've actually spent a little more time in NOLA than Sav.
Savannah is the best of the NOLA Garden District combined with the best of the French Quarter.
NOLA has Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest, Savannah has St Patrick's Day.
Both have the party scene but NOLA definitely edges out Sav on that, but I think that's part of why I prefer Sav. Don't get me wrong, you can drink your arse off in Sav, buy drugs on the corner, and get robbed if you walk down the wrong street, just like Nola, there is just less of that.
Both have great cuisine.
Both have deep cultural and colonial roots and history, lots of "Birthplace of this" and "First Chartered that" around every corner.
Both have old beautiful architecture.
Savannah is much more picturesque with all of the squares. The people walking around are all so friendly, almost like people in the Truman Show. It could easily take a yankee off guard.
New Orleans, there are friendly people but also weird people, not sure if they are going to rob you, strangely long and uncomfortable eye contact, just weird shite. In the garden district, the old money folks just lock themselves up in their fortresses and are happy to be there.
The people make the difference for Savannah to win that argument. Proximity to a beach (Tybee Island) that you can actually sunbathe, surf, build sand castles, and also be able to fish both offshore and miles and miles of inshore fishing, shrimping, crabbing, oystering, clamming, etc. NOLA has all that too, and a little more, but no real beach to speak of.

I think Georgia wins golf, but overall sports and outdoor related stuff should go to Louisiana.
the visual for their coast crushes ours, but we have the better fishing but that goes under sports.
Music: id give the edge to us, we have jazzfest and voodoo fest, the local artist are probably close. On top of the big fest New Orleans is a great local music city and la has good artist all over it.
Food: that has been covered we win, Good places to eat in both but we have the edge when it comes to native styles.
College towns: Georgia wins that going away. the college towns here are terrible.
fwiw it is easy to shite on Louisiana when looking at school rankings but when you actually break down the state on quality of life we should be far better. Economic stats are highly skewed because of the poor fricks that live in north east la, and the trash in da parish that does everything straight cash. We have plenty of arse backwards places but so does every state. We lack the natural beauty on the coast but I would argue that our bayous can make for nice scenes.
New Orleans is on the rise economically and if the new water front campus actually comes to life we could be looking at a huge boost nationally for Baton Rouge.
The school problem will never be fixed in the rankings but those rankings once again don't show the true stats. Our best students aren't in public schools in south LA, the best kids are mostly in private schools.
I will say parts of our state are frozen in time and they will never improve but what state doesn't have that?
