Your state is swamp. Deal with it.
Gulfport Mississippi is pretty darn close to New Orleans - and it has miles and miles of decent beaches.
Meanwhile, just West of the Mississippi Delta - and much farther away from the Mississippi River than Gulfport - you've got hundreds of miles of Louisiana coastland - that's swamp.
I don't hear Gulfport whining about it. But I do hear you.
Wonder why that is?

Did you even read my post? I specifically mentioned the gulf currents taking sediment WESTWARD. And you dispute that by highlighting the existence of beaches east of the Mississippi's mouth.
Just stop, man. You're making an absolute fool of yourself.

Despite the retardation, Georgia still >>>>>> Louisiana. DWI.

It wouldn't be a Louisiana hate thread without you, Cat.

I've been in this thread since the beginning.
We can also debate Louisiana <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Virginia if you want.

To each his (or her) own. Georgia does nothing for me, but I see how it could be appealing for someone. Likewise, I realize Louisiana is not for everyone, but it suits me well.
And when I say Louisiana, I mean south Louisiana.

Soooo... even a native Louisianan, which I assume that you are, wants nothing to do with N. LA.

To me, north LA might as well be Mississippi or Arkansas. There is some beautiful land along the river up to the Natchez area, but anything north of that is essentially another state.

Well, as a native Virginian, I wouldn't want to claim Southwest Virginia either. I get that.

I've spent a few nights in Roanoke and thought that area was beautiful, mainly because of the mountains. Of course I don't know about living there, the culture, etc. but that was always my favorite part of the drive from New Orleans to D.C. Which was a trip I made just about every year in high school.
ETA: now that I think about it, I made that trip just a few years ago after getting to LSU.

From the D.C. Burbs, have friends in Roanoke. Do not want.

What is this "north Louisiana" you speak of? Alexandria?

I could definitely see how it would be a completely different world from NOVA. I hope to get back to that area soon as D.C. is one of my absolute favorite cities.
Lately my time in Virginia has been limited to Dulles.

Yeah, Dulles sucks.
Not as bad as Hartsfield-Jackson though.

No. D.C. is not awesome. The D.C. suburbs are. Plus you can drive to many of the most historic sites in the entire country within two or three hours of D.C.
I'm from the D.C. burbs... and the home of George Washington.
