It's even worse than Canada. Ohio. I'm sorry.

Ohio really wants to be the South. Rebel flags everywhere, sweet tea everywhere, "southern BBQ" joints everywhere. I'm not on the Kentucky line. I'm north of Columbus. It's not what I expected. Also there are video stores. Remember those? They still have them. I travel all over and never see them anymore. This place is backwards

The rebel flag stuff from people that are from the Midwest is cringey. Never understood why they did it. Yes, even in central Indiana you get those people. I went to high school with a quaker who's family had lived in the area for decades. Wore a rebel flag shirt that said "its not hate its heritage". Pretty stupid

There are a few still floatin around in Indiana but not many. And the ones that are, are hurting. One I saw last time I was back was renting out part of its space

All these towns have their nice little town squares, rows of old Colonials right in the middle of town. Beautiful old churches. Half of it is decrepit. To be honest I bet this was one of the nicest places in America to live ...50-100 years ago

The area where Im from doesn't have many colonial style homes, and the older churches are well kept.
Guess it helps that the town burnt down a few different times, got rid of a lot of old buildings.
Still, any area that experiences a decline due to post industrialization is bound to see a dip in its buildings' quality

Sorry I have no opinion of Indiana. My biggest memory is stopping in a farm town and getting a Mexican Coke on the way back from Chicago. There is a possibility I will be in the Ft Wayne area some time next year

Yeah, there aint much outside of the few urban centers. Some don't like it but, I find it nice. And if you are from the area you can easily find things to do.
As for Fort Wayne, its a decent town. Its the highest populated place in the state outside of Indy I think, but it is not in as bad of shape as Gary.
You from Ohio?

It’s basically Dunkin Donuts (oh sorry Dunkin now) with a different name.
Don’t see much of a difference

No, I'm from lower Alabama. This is the 2nd time I've been in Ohio. The first was in 2004. Work brings me here

Long way from home.
I've never been a big fan of Ohio. Some people from there think they're above the rest of the region

They used to have old ladies in the airport that would hand you fresh cookies as you deplaned.

Honestly, that was the best thing about Ft Wayne.

Lots of other really nice little towns in Indiana, though.

they have 3 main cities. A lot of people don't realize how huge Columbus is, it's bigger than Cincy or Cleveland.

Tell you what though, driving through 4 hours of rolling hills and horse pastures in Kentucky, then hitting Cincy at the state line is a shock to the system. Most places don't change much at the state line but that's like stepping into a whole different universe

Bozeman, MT is the greatest little airport on Earth. It is a wooden hunting lodge with wild game mounted everywhere, that happens to have a tarmac
