Got dang, the new buildings and renovations there are just mind boggling.
Sat on the bar balcony at the campus hotel (right beside Kyle Field) both nights. From where I looked, there was one corner of one building that I could see that was there when I graduated. Thank goodness the new stuff is not the Soviet housing block architecture that was the theme in the boom of the 70s and 80s.
Kept shaking my head that this was a hotel with a nice bar and valet parking at a school where I literally lived in a (recently) former whorehouse.
Also had events at the Bush school and library. Pence, Cheney, and Quayle there for an event at the same time.
Have all schools had this same level of just crazy “newness” added in the education arms race? I realize A&M is probably over top with it, but also imagine other schools have seen it.

I haven't seen the Arkansas campus in a few years now but I know when I lived in Fayetteville walking through campus was like going through a maze because of all the construction.
Granted, Arkansas is hampered in their building because the University is built on top of a hill so everything tends to take place in a close proximity.

Yes.
University education is well on the way to being completely taken over by the "CEO as rockstar" bidness people. Always plenty of money for the execs, always plenty of money for buildings, never any money for support staff or maintenance.

Alabama’s campus and surrounding area is hardly what it used to be when I was there 2006-2010. Crazy to think that over that time the over the top new dorms are now being replaced with even more over the top dorms. The new science quad is amazing too. It really does look good, just different.

Kentucky is Construction U right now. They are remodeling and expanding construction zones on campus constantly. They just finished the new student center and a bunch of new multi roomed dorms. They basically rebuilt the Southern part of campus less than 4 years ago
They have fence up in a lot of spots which can make it difficult to get places.

UK's campus looks way different now than when I was there. They replaced every dorm on campus with new high rise luxury apartments, and just finished a $220 Million dollar renovation of the student center.
Your tax dollars at work.

They're gonna renovate Chem Phys and the Classroom building. The law school got gutted, and I think theyre gonna update the walkway that leads up to memorial hall, cause they expanded a fence to enclose that as well
