Jesus actually died on a Thursday

Tomorrow being Good Friday I thought this would be a good time to post about this. Most Christians have grown up being taught/believing that Christ died on a Friday. Most of this due to the fact that Joseph of Aramathea asked to take down the body of Christ because the next day was the Sabbath, which is of course, Saturday.
A little backstory on the Passover holiday, the first day of Passover was always on the 15th of the Jewish month of Nisan, no matter what day of the week on which it fell. The day before is called the Day of Preparation. According to Exodus 12, the Jews were commanded to observe both the 1st and 7th day of Passover as a holy day of rest, these were special sabbaths called "high days". So the 15th of Nisan would be a sabbath day wherever it fell during the week.
The Gospel of Luke states Jesus was crucified on the Day of Preparation (Luke 23:53), the day before Passover. And John tells us that they asked for Jesus' body because the next day was not only a sabbath, but a high day (John 19:31).
Now this is where it gets interesting, at least to me. In our English translations of the Bible, Matthew 28:1 tells us that Mary Magdalene went to visit the tomb after the Sabbath, but in the Greek texts, it uses the plural of Sabbath, indicating that there were back to back Sabbaths.
A Thursday crucifixion also fits Jesus' prophecy of his Resurrection much better than a Friday one. Jesus said like Jonah was in the whale, so will the Son of Man stay three day and three nights in the earth. Now the Jewish way of keeping time was very inexact, where they would count any part of a day as we would a whole day, and you could argue that since he died on Friday and rose on Sunday, that he was in the grave for parts of three days, you can't get three nights out of it. But you can with a Thursday death.
There's more evidence for a Thursday burial, but this was the major stuff and all I have time for right now. Anyway, I hope you find this interesting.

Tell me this: Why did the Lord create angels, watch one fall away from Him, and then the Lord creates humans. Guess what? We fail because of God's first failure...

I apologize for the edge. Genuinely seeking answers, tired of riding the middle of the road.

The Bible is a joke.

And... this is your way of reprimanding? Nice.

Well I'm out of stakes and lighter fluid

We can just hold hands, if you want.

You know that we don't discuss religion on TD don't you?
Oh, wait you're only taking a dump on Christ, the Bible, and Christians during their Holy Week leading up to their most holy of celebrations, the Resurrection of Jesus.
Never mind. Carry on. Nothing to see here. No need for an RA. You're simply expressing your lack of religious faith by mocking the religious on the board and what they believe.

May actually do some good. An oxytocin deficiency could very well be the pathology

Thank you for such a drawn out explanation of what has occurred. All of you are the same. Quick to reprimand, and then go and hide. I was asking a genuine question, which no "Christian" can answer.

Pardon those who didn't believe the genuine question because it was followed by "the Bible is a joke".

I removed that part, but I know most followers of Christ love to hold grudges. Strange correlation, that one.

You asked an unanswerable question, any way. You're basically asking why did God create beings with the free will.

If you look at the surface, sure. There has to be more to it, but we are expected to just trust and obey, for there is no other way to be in Jesus. What a great way to lead your people.

I never claimed to smarter. I'm speaking from personal experience, you're just making assumptions. What is your problem, Christian?
Posted on 4/18/19 at 3:26 pm to AndyWoods
Tell me how did God fail in creating angels?

My problem is really easy. You're a chode. It's not that big of a deal. It just started, it doesn't make me upset in the slightest, and it will be gone in a few minutes. Your problem goes much deeper. You came in with a deep problem, lashing out about it and then when we couldnt ignore your shitty attitude and instantly solve it for you, you lashed out some more. You should probably pray about it

You'd consider having one of your own creations flee your side, to pursue his own thoughts and desires, successful? I would deem that a failure, but to each their own. Also, why would there be any need to create a more physical being when there were already beings created to serve Him in the heavens, that didn't work out? What else was there for Him to gain? It comes across as selfish, to me.
