Pennies are practically worthless now, it would be better to round to nickels instead of fiddling with one cent coins. It costs more to make them than what they're worth!

I can see your point. If we start banning money then it's harder for you to welch on bets because there is nothing to bet with.

Stonehog, I'm with you 100% on banning the penny but this cracked me up

Have you ever addressed this welching thing?

I'm pretty sure the most useless coin that exists now is the 10 cent peso.

Depends on the total. For example, if a total comes to $1.96 or $1.97, round down to $1.95. So if you have the cashier $2.00, you would get back a nickel.

If a total comes to $1.98 or $1.99, round up to $2.00. So if you gave the cashier $2.00, you wouldn't get any change.

Nothing wrong with pennies. No sure why people hate them so much.

Pennies don't bother me. Don't think I have had one in my possession in the last two years.

It's funny how the treasury department was much more active in the 19th & first part of the 20th century with what America needed and things came and went accordingly.

Today a 2015 $1 silver eagle costs $18.51... Thanks fiat currency.

That sounds like an accounting nightmare when the actual money in hand at the end of the day doesn't match up to the sales amounts.

Seems like the perfect time to pull off the Office Space scheme.

Yeah this shite falls apart if the price of goods is allowed to fall in between nickels. When was the last time your grocery store bill was $51.758?

The totals would round up or down automatically. If something comes to 99 cents it just gets rounded to a dollar.
