I think they kicked everyone who hadn't posted in a while. Blame the UT fan.

I left after a bit. Was too much to keep up with.

Congratulations for not having your typical offseason breakdown that inevitably leads to you getting banned.

Great story.

As an aside, I've heard it said that people assume a lot of areas out in the country are racist, but if they understood that when no one has anything, everyone just helps each other to survive and don't really have the time or the concern to care what their neighbors look like.

I think if you've never lived that way, or gone through something like the Depression, you probably have a very loose grasp of sincere humanity while sitting in your ivory tower hundreds of miles away.
That's how it was when I visited relatives in KY and WV. Neighbors came together and helped each other on the farms. They did not have much, but they were very hospitable people.

Mountain folks can often be tri race if you go back far enough.

True in my youth and travels.

FWIW I have noticed when the Ohio Ocean is the dividing line

North love the race and hate the people

South love the people and hate the race

Yankees seem to love black folks yet no black friends or neighbors. Southern folk fish with those who like to fish. They can be black, white, or green with pink polka dots and nobody cares (specially when you are sitting around a fire cooking up the catch).

My grandfather was from Ky, and my grandmother from Wv. He once chased after a black man with a knife while in his underwear after the guy broke into his apartment, stalking his daughter. Chased him down the street and was gone for 20-30 minutes, according to my aunt. He had a bad temper, but I would be mad if someone tried to hurt my child. It must have been a sight.
