Why? The rest of the US has decided to give the Texicans back to the Mexicans.

Someone needs to freshen up on their history.

We won our independence from Mexico, were our own country for a decade and then voluntarily joined the US. We weren't bought from Mexico, thus America has no right to "give us back" as he suggested.

Can I be a little offensive here? My uncle told me if I looked back in our family history, I had ancestors that owned slaves on Mississippi River plantations. He also said there there was a little bit of extra spice in my Acadian bloodline. He also said we killed injuns for money. Yes, injuns, not Indians.

Notice the past tense in all of these examples. It's time to move on.

It took about 7 years of begging from Texas to get the US to annex. Y'all are lucky Polk was an expansionist.

Moving on =/= forgetting, though

BUT it does mean forgiving and getting the frick along.

Also, I don't believe a minority started this thread

Wanna hear something even more offensive? My family owned slaves as well on my dad's side. He is originally from a very rural area of MS and moved to the Memphis area later, but most of my family still lives out there. A few miles from the road where all my folks live are a bunch of black people that share my uncommon last name. They all go to the same school as my family members too for the most part. Awkward.

I'm not racist until it starts bringing down my property values.

I agree, the USA was blessed that the Republic of Texas deigned to sign on to their little operation

I think you mistake sensitivity for us just wanting to run our mouths about Texas some more. I explained this a few pages ago

I'm not racist until I think about all the Europeans that raped my ancestors into subjugation

I didn't make the joke. I was pointing out how silly it was all these Texans "rabble! You don't know history" over a dumb joke

Like I said, a feeble excuse for us to expound upon the glorious history of the Republic once again

Is this Aggy "Texas is the best state EVAR" cirle-jerk still going on? I thought we were talking about racist and the confederate flag and the like.
