It really is crazy. What's even crazier is John Y Brown held the interest of the now Clippers, traded franchises with the Boston Celtics, and then sold his remaining interest in the Celtics just after he pissed Auerbach off to the point that he almost left for the Knicks.
He then went on to marry Miss America.

There were always rumors that he was coked up for most of his tenure as Governor of Kentucky as well.
