If you walk under a ladder, then go back under the same way?

Does it erase the bad luck or double it?

I think you gotta moon walk when you go back the other way to erase it. Otherwise, double.

Luck isn’t real… it is a subjective interpretation of past events, only after the outcome is apparent.

I do. A great aunt of mine had an interesting thing she would do if a black cat crossed her path and she didn't have an alternative. She would draw a cross surrounded by a circle on the ground and then spit on it.

If we were driving and a black cat crossed the road in front of us, my mother would draw 3 air "x"es across the windshield.

When I was really little and my grandmother and I would go on walks, shopping at the store, etc., if something separated us (like a light pole, or someone walking in the other direction), she'd say, "bread and butter."
Apparently it's a superstition about not allowing anything in the future to come between your relationship, but I've never heard anyone else say it.

I'm putting up Christmas lights at your mom's house and she keeps walking in front of the windows naked. So yes I'm bored.

Sounds like bad luck to me.
Shouldn't have walked under that ladder.
