I make more at retirement than when I made 7(3) times as much working.

It may be because I'm stupid. But as a self employed contractor it didn't seem to help.

I bought parts and tools but probably needed a competent money manager.

OK that's all I have to say.

I'm dam glad I'm retired and all my shite is paid off.

Now I just need to stay healthy.

Self employed for many years plus working for CSX. Now I'm on RR retirement.

I now worry about inflation.

It's not the retirement amount. It's I was too dumb to buy a 70,000 truck at the end of the year.

Best advice I have for anyone is get a good financial advisor.

Great if your smart enough that you don't need one, but if your like me get someone that can advise you.

So you’re one of the guys that give dumb “safety” meetings now when construction crews working near tracks?

Tiresias, in Greek mythology, is a blind Theban seer.

In Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex, Oedipus, the ruler of Thebes, summons the elderly prophet to help identify the murderer of the previous king.

Tiresias, knowing the terrible truth, initially refuses to speak, but eventually reveals that Oedipus himself is the killer, and that Oedipus has unknowingly murdered his father and married his mother, the queen of Thebes.

No, the "safety" meetings sukd, as did the managers that told you not to lay across the tracks...except for the boots and jackets they gave you for going.

They paid for college but I put in 20 hrs a week at night. to get an electronics degree, FCC certification (I worked in telecommunications)

My buddy put in almost 40 yrs. His wife worked for the phone co. They're much better off than me.

So I'm an example that college didn't work out, But it was better for me to get certifications like a welder or mechanic. (only in telecommunications)

I took a buyout and became a self contracting whore, should have stayed for 35 yrs.

I could have got them to pay for college but UNO wanted me to take way too many remedial courses.

It worked out OK for me. (the FCC certification was more important than remedial english)

Wow, lots of alphabet letters in this post.

The ampersand (&) used to be taught as the 27th letter of the alphabet..

See, who needs remedial english...

Not virtually inspired at all.......

Could you put this in larger block letters...?

Well, faith has something to do with it. Do you know how hard it is to find a blind seer these days?

That really is a well done movie.

It manages to appeal to some (probably most) who have no idea what's it based on, which is hard to do.

Only bad movie they made was the remake of the British classic. While the writing and secondary characters were vintage Cohen, casting Tom Hanks in the lead was an absolute failure.

From a fellow big fan of the Cohen Bro’s works?…yeah?…that was a rare misstep.

However, to your point, the secondary characters really carried the load in The Ladykillers.

J.K. Simmons absolutely killed it with his character

I am a big Irma P Hall fan, JK as well.

Whole secondary cast was pretty solid. Even had a Wayans brother.
