Sometimes I look at photos of what I’m about to do and save them for reference. That one accidentally got mixed in and has been replaced with a photo of the same vista that is mine.

Maybe, maybe not.

This is my mental image of Angry Kansas (could be an angry old black woman, could be an angry young black tranny).

In all seriousness, if you really do go to those places (or even some), that's pretty badass, regardless of whose pictures they are.

I can envision you at a summit peak just dog-cussing and yelling at everyone down beneath you.

In all seriousness,

Whitney Summit

Got altitude sickness there. Iceberg Lake on left and Upper Boy Scout Lake on right.

Never had it happen fortunately, but that's always been a fear of mine.

Did it subside, or were you just miserable?

Turned around and went back down for a while. Then went back up about dark.

The pink in that pic, off behind the lone purple cloud, is Death Valley and lowest elevation in the lower 48 states. And our view was taken from the highest place in the 48 contiguous. Same county, think parish, so you drive from below sea level to 8,000 and park the car in the matter of a couple hours. Assuming one night in the campground was the reason.

Easy to spot first timers... folks from Alabama... and the rest of SEC.
