How much time do you spend playing on the net while at work?

It's kind of an old topic, but I'm curious cause through numerous means of social media I see all these people bitching about lazy arse poor people, but I personally know a lot of lazy arse rich (well-off) people that play on the internet all day and bitch about lazy arse poor people. I also know a lot of poor people that work really hard.

I don't wanna make this a political discussion, it's just for polling reasons. I just wanted to let you know why I was rehashing an old topic.

My job is about 90% sitting and waiting so I spend quite a lot of time on the internet. I'm not lazy my job is just boring as a mother fricker.

I agree, I used to work for a military contractor while in college, I wasn't lazy, but sometimes there just wasn't anything to do. I think this happens a lot as well at tons of places.

At my job now there is ALWAYS something to do. There is never a time where something cant be done. That may change one I start in sales training and I probably won't have as much warehouse time to do since I've spent the last 7 months there.

A LOT of it

The job I do, I'm chained to my desk half the time, anyways, so I usually have one of my monitors on SECr/TexAgs/Facebook or sumn.

Generally a decent amount. Really depends on the day. Like many have already stated, my job is primarily responsive so I may have days/weeks where I am not free to do anything but work but often I have time during the day to "play" around a bit online. Probably averages out to cigarette breaks if I smoked.

I have treatment resistant chronic insomnia. It sucks but it gives me a lot of time to learn shite on the Internet.

I don't know how much you guys make... but I'm starting to see a trend here.... Lot's of playing, not a lot of doing... And I'm not specifically blaming anyone.. like I said I worked and have worked several jobs that "there's just not anything else to do"....

It depends more on the dollar value of your duties and/or the level of responsibility you're operating at.

I work in county government and have my own office with no one really close to me. Also, the first half of my day I am the only one in this particular building and the doors remain locked.

Soooo...I'd say upwards of 85% of my day is spent on TD, unless I've got something big and important I'm working on.
