Good at what? It's a box you put ice in.

They'll hold ice for a couple of weeks. Great for extended hunting/fishing trips.

Have you guys seen that luxury ''ice'' that's available? Can't make it up.

Why are their coolers so awesome? What's the appeal?

My brother in law has one he brings to the beach every summer for our family vacation, and I will say they do a great job keeping beer super cold all day on the beach.

But my $50 Coleman Extreme does just as good of a job, and it's exponentially lighter and holds more in it.

Last year we used his Yeti for extra ice and my Coleman to take out on the beach.

Ok I get that. I have the feeling that most of their buyers are not people who are regularly taking massive week long outdoor excursions.

Depends on what you're using it for. Right field at Swayze? Waste of money. Leave on a boat all week to fish? It's perfect for that.

Exactly. It keeps your shite cold all day? So does any other cooler

If you fill it up with lube you can frick it harder than it fricked your wallet.

It's a status symbol. "Look guys! I paid a bunch of money for this badass cooler!"

I get using them for fishing trips and whatnot.

Well when I work in the heat of a south Texas summer and am 2 or 3 hours away from civilization on some god forsaken pipeline right of way it's nice to have cold water and a place to keep things like sandwiches where they don't spoil and the Yeti does this better than any other cooler I have ever tried.

Cooler dick measuring contest

Seems the Coleman extreme had close to 10% better ice retention in this test.

I've used a K2 and really like them as well.

Not unless I purchase a strap on too.

This.

I can leave mine in the boat in 100 weather for a week and there's still ice on day 7.

We've thought about getting one to keep at the camper (and for the boat), problem is they're not that big. Unless they've started making larger ones.

Try weeks.

If you need it, it's worth it. Most people don't need it.

They make one the size of a coffin.

Ok, I've only seen people with the smaller sized ones. We usually use a marine cooler, so I'll have to take a look at those.

They make different sizes. I have never seen a huge one but you don't need half the ice you would normally use so a smaller cooler can hold more stuff.
