I was visiting some friends who are black. While chatting with their grandson and just shooting the shite. Out of the blue he asked me if I know what his uncle called me. Not really thinking I said I don’t. He said he calls you cracker arse cracker. Admittedly I was caught of guard and kindly said that he should not say that because the connotation is wrong. It just made realize that racism is prevalent in society. Now if I turned and around and said a racist word then I’d be no better than the other person. But it did strike me as strange.

Has the issue been brought up about blacks calling themselves the N word? It’s more prevalent for them to say it than white people. How should we address it when it happens.

If there are some black people on here who could explain the subtle nuances to the word and if there are various meanings I’d like to know.

I have friends that I can say the word around and I never directly call them that. They always call me that or even themselves.

I’d that something that is being addressed and I haven’t seen it ? Or just still a hush hush thing.

I’d really like to understand the difference in the term just because someone says it who isn’t black.

I hope this question is taken serious as that’s my exact intention. Just clarification. TIA.

I’m from the United States and even the south. Call me ignorant if you want. I helped a lady pump gas the other day and afterwards a black gentleman started giving me shite about something and saying I was racist. I was like dude. I just helped an elderly black lady pump gas. I’m not a fricking racist but you calling words that are racist implies you may be. I really don’t get it.

I like MLK QUOTE and I’ll surmise. I’m more concerned about your character than your color.

Seriously you can be Friends with Dude and still be a CaC, likely you see things in a way that he'll never understand, hence he thinks "that dude's a Cracka arse Cracka

Don't get made it ain't racial with him, to that Dude you're probably the best white guy he's ever met in his entire Life, he probably has to deal with jerks like "InGaButLoveBama" & "HarryMorgan" all day long

It ain't personal, you shoulda told lil' Dude, snitches get stitches and usually end up in ditches

Or… don’t make me treat you Like my granddaddy treated your granddaddy.

Something like that?

I just think there is some type of double standard that is being ignored.

That is the mother of all deflection. If you want to get rid of racism, let's get rid of all of it. Don't sit back and tell me not to feel a certain way about something while taking the complete opposite stance for someone else.
