You have every right to be proud, too. I admire them more than I can possible put into words. The animals that actually fired on them and tried to steal their boats should be placed in a house that is almost completely flooded with their hands and ankles bound so that they drown and die a slow death as water rises to completely flood the house they are in. Make them suffer.

Mad respect for Louisianians that make up the Cajun Navy.

They have done such good work!

The CN guy I spoke with said the shooting claim was false, but I absolutely admit anything is possible.

I've been so proud/impressed with the people helping around the Houston area, but the Cajun Navy is something really special. To head in from out of state, uncalled on, into this small ocean of water and suffering... They are special in the best ways possible.

I've got 2 buddies that went down there Sunday and came back yesterday with their boat helping. They said you can't image how bad it really is down there. They said if we can send anything down people really need it. Especially baby diapers and supplies. Some people have lost absolutely everything.

They have my utmost gratitude and appreciation. They saved hundreds of lives in a neighboring community for no other reason than that they could help. That's true heroism and sacrifice. It might not be much, but if I'm ever in a bar or restaurant with a member they are eating and drinking for free.

Closely related: The Creole Navy.

The guy mentioned is a close friend and a bit of a nut, obviously. But if you have extra cash this is a good place to spend it. I can promise that every dollar will be spent on relief efforts.
