How much of the debate was controlled by Fox News as impaired to the GOP?

That debate was not impressive

Agree. But it did give just a little bit of insight into the candidates. I'd prefer splitting it up 4 candidates per debate until it gets down to a final four. Would be more in depth and folks would have a better idea of who they have to choose from.

Thing I hated more than anything was how long it took to roll around to different candidates. Some never got a chance to address certain issues, that I'd have loved to have heard their replies to.

It's a long season though and I'm gonna likely be more engaged than I have been in a long time. I like this crop of folks and feel there is actually a chance to vote FOR someone, rather than vote AGAINST someone.

Last night was an introduction to these guys. All I care about is seeing and hearing how they answer questions. Charisma. Personalities. They won't have a chance to really dig into anything, so I'm just asking who's electable?

Yep. I'll delve further into their stances on my own. I wanna see how the can "lead", which is just window dressing really. I still think in no order, Rubio, Cruz, Paul and Huckabee were the most informed last night. Everyone else was either too timid or too general and used loudness for their answers.

And frankly, the Republican party still has an issue with wanting their personal beliefs to be inserted into politics. If one of them would just say, "no I don't believe in abortion. I'm pro life. But surveys show that over 80% of people support women making this choice, and as President, my job would be to speak for the people."

First off, 80% of people don't support abortion. This is the answer I would like to see on abortion/social issues:

"While I'm personally against abortion, I believe in Federalism and we should allow states to decide. Same for gay marriage. Our constitution was designed such that the powers not assigned to the federal government will be given to the states. Let each state decide for itself. I have no desire to dictate how to live your life. I will protect you from our enemies and provide infrastructure to facilitate interstate commerce. What you do from there is up to you."

That isn't federalism. Federalism takes away State's rights. And it's what D's and the media has continued to promote over the yrs.

THAT, I agree with. Federalism has bastardized the Constitution and the Rights States are afforded it.

Yes they do. Latest abortion poll by Gallup says:

Legal under any circumstances: 29%

Legal under certain circumstances: 51%

Legal Under no circumstances: 19%

So technically 80% of people support abortion, or at least the right to do so.

And I don't think it's necessarily Fox's fault, as much as the ludicrous nature of the candidates and modern campaigning.

Fox News became a laughing stock. People want to hear what the candidates propose to do about the very real problems we have. The questions they were asking, especially to Trump, were a disgrace. And I have to admit, Trump is right about Megan Kelly.

We sincerely need a hard-hitting news agency to really get at these candidates. They shouldn't be comfortable, the American presidency is not a comfortable position. Women like Sarah Palin should feel ashamed and drop out of the race from feeling inadequate, same with Trump -- although we won't know because no one asked him a policy question, well, not a significant one.

He was basically just asked questions about what he said in the past, was he not?

Yeah but they were all designed as personal attacks. We all know what Trump is. Questions directed toward specific policy would have been more effective at downing Trump than the personal attacks.

I personally would have lobbed him softballs that took 30 seconds to answer and starve him of his lifeblood, attention.

Goodness he loves it, loves to hear his own voice, he really thinks he's ready for this.

I'm actually still shocked the Republicans allowed him to even try...
