In the sense that both are sinful, sexual acts. That is the only reason beastiality was mentioned.
Was it a poor choice of words? Sure. I wouldn't have said that. But he is not saying that homosexuals are worse than people who engage in acts of beastility, or vice versa. He's simply stating that both are sinful. That's it.

Why is homosexuality a worse sin than being rich?
It's icky and gross. Phil said so in the interview.

And that's the reason he got suspended from the show. Calling an entire group of people "sinful" for just being the way God made them isn't very Christ-like.

I'm assuming we agree that it's not hate speech?

Again, everyone is sinful. We are born sinners. Saying that God made some men more vulnerable to homosexual acts is no different than saying God made some men more vulnerable to theft, murder, adultery, etc. We all have our own individual struggles, and we are all made by God. Again, that doesn't make it any less sinful when we fall into temptation and engage in sinful acts.
It just appears that Phil is "singling out homosexuals" because that was the context of the conversation. But if he had been asked if adultery is a sin, he would have said yes as well. Is that unfair to the adulterers of the world? I personally don't think so

I still call it hate speech. If you look at the complaint from GLAAD they specifically cite the bestiality crap as being over the line.

With all the straw men in this thread, we could go on a hayride!

it did not.
So according to Christianity, aside from the act of marriage(which I've been to plenty of weddings to know how that's all up in the New Testament) but Biblically, calling ejaculating in a man's butt a sin is the same as saying eating bacon is a sin, right? They are in the same region, right? And Jesus supposedly invalidated that whole part(the spraying in a man's anus/eating bacon), right?
So what's the issue?

First of all, this country should be ashamed we ever put Duck Dynasty on TV in the first place

Most liberals probably think it is.

No argument there

Every definition I've found says it must promote violence and he clearly did not do that.

But with that, I'm going to bow out of this debate. I actually need to get some work done today

Secondly, we've had this thread before. Same arguments every time. I said a few nights ago to change things we have to work on an individual level. I'm disappointed in some opinions in here, but going back and forth with each other isn't going to change anything, and that goes for both sides.

That's because communism is a sin

OP

Phil has the right to think/say/feel what he wants. I don't agree with it, but that's his opinion. Using that same logic, A&E has the right to suspend him. People forget (especially public figures) that their actions/words have consequences. I'm sure that ole' Phil will not be hurt financially from this cluster frick, and he'll keep right on trucking.
A&E suspended Dog the Bounty Hunter when he made some racist remarks. They eventually brought the show back. It's not the end of the world people. Get over it already

I don't know the Bible well enough to answer that

Wrong. The interviewer asked "What in your mind is sinful?"
And Phil responded "Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there."
He singled it out.

Wait... are they suspending the whole show? Please God let it be true. Shows like that exhibit everything wrong with the US
