Back in my years of playing Rugby, when things would get really rough and tumble in a heavy duty gridlocked scrum, we had a technical move called “the dip-stick”…also commonly known as an “oil check” that almost ALWAYS resulted in an opponent immediately releasing their grasp & possession of the ball

I'm not sure if the guy was trying to help, or just taking advantage of the situation.
