I do. Parents wanted me to have the same initials as my dad, but didn't want to call me junior. So I've got the same first name as my dad, but a different middle name
Exactly the same situation for me. Dad is John Alex, I'm John Alan.
I find it to be something of an advantage. When the phone rings and the non-native English speaker asks for John, I know I can just hang up the phone....

I do and it's because my first name was a compromise to appease both sets of grandparents and keep peace in the family
the only people who ever called me by my first name were my grandparents, judges, lawyers, and other official people.

Went by my middle name (am a Junior) until college, when I switched to my first name. Family calls me by my middle, while friends and co-workers use my first name.
My dad did the same thing.

I like it. It gives you the option to remain a little bit anonymous. People who only know me by my middle name casually have a harder time tracking me down.

Nah...I do have a pretty incredible middle name though.

I've started using my first name and middle name together on somethings.

Our family always has used the middle name. It was so confusing in school that I just switched my middle name to first when enrolling in classes. No problems after that.

My mother does. But for her it is understandable. Her name is Donna and her father is Don and her brother Donny. She needless to say hates her first name.

We have 4 children. 3 of which go by their middle name.

My dad goes by his middle name and he hates his first name.
His first name was given to him by the doctor that delivered him. My dad was the 7th of 10 kids and my grandmother had no more fricks to give at that point and told the doctor "you can pick his name"

I contemplated it in high school just because so many other girls my age had the same first name. There were 7 other girls in my choir class with my first name my Junior year.

That's pretty neat actually. My pop was one of 9.
We have a neighbor named "Wicky" on his drivers license because his mother passed out after birth. His father was a drunk retard with a speech impediment that couldn't write at all.. The nurse wrote down "Wicky" because he couldn't say Rs..

Hilarious
My dad was the first kid in the family born in the hospital, so I think my grandmother probably felt like it was an honor to let a doctor name her child
