Do you feel bad when someone dies because they're being stupid?

Nope. Darwin doing work. One less person I have to compete with for resources.
I'm all for educating someone. But it's eventually going to come down to their choice to be stupid. Be that drinking and driving, roller skating in traffic, driving without a seatbelt, etc. I can't feel pity for stupid people.

By this rationale you should celebrate when an intelligent person dies. You ought to be winning your competition against stupid people.

I'm always sad when I see someone loses their life because that's still someone's child, sibling, friend, etc. Stupid or not that has a distinct impact on the people around them.

intelligent people make stupid decisions too and I'm still not gonna feel bad
I'm all for giving someone the freedom to make choices. when those choices are stupid ones, I don't feel bad for them

sure I can understand feeling bad for those around the person being stupid
but perhaps the parents should've done a better job raising the person making the stupid decisions. there are certainly other aspects to take into account before feeling real bad for everyone around the person being stupid.

Well, at least 150,000 people will die today, so...

cool. your point?
No point in the usual sense. Just that if you like people dying you'll always have plenty to be happy about.

where did I say I was happy when someone dies?
not feeling bad =/= being happy
not feeling bad =/= being happy

Well obviously there's some cases where there's more empathy than others.
I feel bad for the teenagers who were recently killed by a train here when they didn't see the flashing rail lights (no gates) and got hit. I don't think that's a parent rearing issue as must as it was a stupid oversight that got the driver and his passengers killed.
Now the guy that has robbed multiple homes and then got shot in the process of robbing one? That's a bit different. Still shitty.

Granted.
Well, then, since you're ambivalent toward stupid people dying, and since more than 150,000 people die every day, and since many if not most of these were stupid, then you'll always have plenty about which to not feel anything.
I already told you that I wasn't making a point.

that example doesn't fall under the category of people being stupid

this sounds like it's someone being stupid

not feeling bad is not ambivalent

as an argument to my OP I would say it depends on a persons definition of stupid

I don't feel bad for anyone when they die. Only because I figure they are at a place better than this one.
I feel bad for the loved ones that have an empty place in their heart. That's the worst part of death.
I went to a funeral for a friends brother that drove to an In n Out parking lot in Burbank, ordered a burger, ate the burger, and then ate a sawed off shotgun.
It was a Thai funeral, my first. Watching his wife push the button to turn on the furnace, waiting for the smoke to come out of the chimney, and then watching her tell her son to say goodbye to his dad was brutal.
My fear of death is only that I fear leaving my loved ones in a state of shock. I hope I live long and prosper, and my death is expected.
So yeah, I do feel bad when someone dies like an idiot, but only because I know the family will be in shock about it, and that sucks.

I would feel bad if someone lost someone close to them because they forgot to put on a seatbelt one time. Damn dude.

I get what you're saying. but there's no way to know if they forgot that one time or they just didn't put on a seat belt when no one was around.
and feeling bad for someone close to them isn't the same as feeling bad for the person being stupid
