I'll give him a pass on the tan lines. Working outside, things happen. Unless he got attacked by some nearsighted Iroquois, he elected to have that monstrosity inflicted on his 'do.

That's what I was wondering too.
I believe they're supposed to, but I guess the impact in that area, especially repeatedly, would still hurt.
