Well, not sure anyone deserves to be executed in the back.

But, Healthcare and insurance reform needs to happen in this country. Denying claims from legit customers needs to not happen at the rate it does. Reform is needed.

Shouldn't need insurance for basic healthcare to start with.

And I'm not speaking in favor of "free" healthcare.

The correct answer will never happen

Single payer is not the answer
Private is not the answer

The answer is somewhere in the middle and beefing up HSA's so the individual can cover the small / basic stuff via free market and government / private can cover the jumbo catastrophic stuff.

There is no need for people to have insurance. It's a modern concept and just an extra corporation making billions off the people as a middle man.

Like most shitty things in this country, it basically started after international bankers took over the US in 1913 and started robbing the people. It really took off in the 1930s with the Great Depression as they refused to add money to the economy to force people to go bankrupt and lose everything to the banks. Refusing to print up money for normal trade.

But it was still pretty cheap. Then the government got involved in healthcare and the costs skyrocketed.

In a healthy society with honest monetary systems and a proper limited government that doesn't give insurance companies and such guaranteed customers at the price they name, people would just pay out of pocket and you have funds people pool up to help those who need help financially.

How can a company be a middle man and it not increase the costs?

Why are basic health services so expensive?

And there it is — thank you.

We always ask, "Should we, or shouldn't we?"

But for some reason no one ever bothers to consider, why does a routine hospital visit cost a half-million dollars?

I consider this stuff all the time, just nobody want to hear the truth.

Consider the following ...

Break your arm and have to go to the ER and get it set

Old Days
200 bucks to fix it
40 bucks (20% co pay) paid by you
160 bucks paid by insurance

Modern Days
2,000 bucks to fix it
400 bucks (20% co pay) paid by you
000 bucks paid by insurance (due to deal negotiated with hospital)

Modern insurance is middlemen and seamsters. They collect premiums but never actually have to pay out and record record profits and 200% to 400% growth in 2 to 3 years.

Most moden problems start with Ronnie winning in 1980 and a US government giving more power to corporate monopolies at the expense of taxpaying US citizens

Murder is murder. No fan of insurance companies but violence isn't the answer.

Profit for health care is a bad idea. Their only concern is money and nothing else. Allowing these corporations, pharmaceuticals, and providers to write the laws and set the prices has made it unaffordable for most people.
