Tampa is a great town with lots to do and the boating is spectacular. But the beaches / water don’t come close to 30a.

I have actually been on 7 cruises and flown to Nassua twice and Jamaica once in 1998 and went on a James Bond island tour.
I estimate I have been to the Destin Fort Walton area around 110 times. In 1996 went to the beach 15 times alone.

I have a home in Rosemary Beach / 30a. It’s great, but I really love Kiawah. The water isn’t nearly as clear, but it’s still amazing and the golf is way better.

We lived in Pensacola from 2008-2014. The Panhandle Beaches are "Better" and the water is clearer, but there's too much Redneck Trash on the beach, (Me and Mrs. Semjase can't stand Rednecks) so East Central Florida gets the nod for much better "People Demographics" and overall there's a lot more to do down here. (A LOT more Thongs down here too!)

From someone who lives on siesta key, I can tell you that you’ve never been to some of those places. Seaside beach or siesta key is the top.
By the way, Tampa has no beaches dumb shite. It has a bay, but no beaches at all. Pretty much the same for key west. Very very small one area of beach. KW is mostly for the LGBTQ+ community
I will also say, Guld Shores and Orange beach are high on the list and very nice. Most of Florida, doesn’t have many public beach areas. Even fort Myers to Naples back up to Clearwater beach. Most beach front areas are blocked by very large homes. Even siesta key and Sarasota doesn’t have one beach front, sand bar like orange beach does. There is no flora bama or hangout or pink pony. That’s one of the things that makes up there very nice.

The best beaches are the ones with no tourists, which means the red neck riviera aka destin is not even CLOSE to being the best beach in the SEC footprint. If that’s your jam, then good, that means you are content with trashy families and loud kids.
