Bands that all of their music sounds distinct - Who, Fleetwood Mac, Journey...

Others? Before Roger Daltry ever opens his mouth you can tell a Who song. FM has that heavy percussion and Journey just sounds like the same chords.

Those 3 bands are only some of the best in history because of their sound.

I didn't say they were bad, I like some or most of what they do but you sure don't wonder who it is when they start playing.

The who doesnt all sound the same. Pinball Wizard sounds nothing like Eminence Front.

Yeah, but that's kind of the point with a lot of good bands. As far as Fleetwood Mac, you know who it is when you their harmony. All of their voices are pretty unique, but their songs definitely don't sound alike. The Who's don't either. Journey would be the band whose actual songs sound more similar, especially in the mid to late 80s. Their earlier stuff is better, IMO.
