It does make sense. What also baffles me is that atheists actually think that reason is on their side.
While I'm not an atheist and I don't particularly like them, I don't think they lack reason. I assume you're Christian? Well you reject thousands of religions as fanaticism, fairy tales, etc... they just reject one more. Do you think Mohamed rode a horse to heaven and Jesus is going to return to Mecca and chill next to Mohamed's tomb in the grave reserved for him after he kills the anti-Christ? What about ancient aliens flying airplanes in to the Hawaiian volcanos and now we need to get tiny bits of alien out of us? What about ancient jews building boats to sail to America, only being written on a golden tablet in a foreign language that could only be written when a dude in new york held up a rock to his eyes inside a hat?
You may dislike atheists, but the argument that either side lacks reason is ridiculous. Both atheist and Christians have reason on their side.

I agree. Alabama does not have 13 championships in football. Or whatever the random number generator in T-Town is up to now...

Well, being Atheist is a high risk bet in my view.
What happens when you die and find out there IS a God after all? You're pretty much fricked then I suppose?

Maybe, but I think the higher risk is not some fantasy view of the afterlife, it's more so living your life as a cynical prick.

Yeah I'm a Christian. I don't dislike atheists. I just think that the atheistic worldview makes no sense when completely thought out. All of the arguments I've seen put forth by atheists are terribly flawed. Here's a quote by Ravi Zacharias that sums it up much better than I can:
"When you say there's too much evil in this world you assume there's good. When you assume there's good, you assume there's such a thing as a moral law on the basis of which to differentiate between good and evil. But if you assume a moral law, you must posit a moral Law Giver, but that's Who you're trying to disprove and not prove. Because if there's no moral Law Giver, there's no moral law. If there's no moral law, there's no good. If there's no good, there's no evil. What is your question?"

That's a very flawed argument. You're framing it wrong

You just die. Nothing happens. Except for being put in a casket and lowered into the earth. Or cremated, whichever you choose.

It would be a waste of scientific time to pursue a hypothesis that cannot be proved. Your assumption that Hell does not exist is based on some empirical evidence I presume?

Religion isn't dangerous
Religion in the hands of crazy people is dangerous. But that's true for anything. Alabama football is dangerous in the hands of crazy people. Atheism is insanely dangerous in the hands of crazy people.

I get the need to want to give purpose to life and have something to look forward to when you die. I just don't believe in this heaven and hell hogwash. Still undecided on an afterlife. I do believe in a spiritual world, a third dimension if you will. I've taken DMT and seen it with my own eyes.

What baffles me is the arrogance of religious people. Their religion is right, but the rest are either flat out wrong or labeled as mythology.

Ever heard of the "life passing before your eyes" when you die phenomena? That's a product of your good ol' grey matter too. Obviously you already know this, but your brain can make you see/experience some outright crazy shite that would probably make you swear up and down there is a "spirit" world. I don't doubt that there are unknown dimensions and areas of physics we may not understand for a long, long time..but i am almost certain there is no evidence or reason to believe in a world of supernatural

When I check Facebook, my filled isn't filled with the arrogance of religious people.
It's that one atheist who's better than everybody else, and needs for everyone to know it.

You're framing a dichotomy of Christianity and atheism as a parallel between a dichotomy of absolute morality and lack there of. It's terribly flawed, and a horrible misrepresentation of any good debate between the two. I know some atheists, and they still have a sense of right and wrong. To act as if they don't because they don't believe it comes from some person born of a virgin is horribly stupid.

Those ancient greeks were some fools. Glad we got it figured out. Amirite?
