That's what my 7 year old, highly functioning autistic daughter has been saying for the last 7 or 8 weeks

Today, she is correct

Maybe she'll start getting ready for the new school year in a few weeks

When I was in school, I was checking out around the 7-8 week mark too, tbh.

Not me. Im almost done and finishing a intersession math class that is 5 sessions, 4 hours a day. Been brutal. Then I pick up another 6 hours for regular summer, after I just finished 17 in Spring.

My brain on fire!!

Your blood sugar must be low, did you eat enough crayons for dinner?

Too much sun today. Dad bought a new property recently, so I took the kids out there to run around. Showed up with 18pk and shot some guns, dad took son to buy a pool and then grilled out. Then wife showed up. It was a nice day. Too much sun though.

I plan on taking my kids fresh water fishing sometime in the next 2 months and I absolutely have no idea what I am doing, so I will be hiring a guide

I plan to reach out to you about it soon

My prayers go out to you and her mom. Raising a child on the spectrum is rewarding but overwhelming and exhausting.

Hang in there and you will be amazed at the progress she will make. You will learn to love her eccentricities and have lots to laugh at when you are all adults.

Let me know. I have some techniques I do in the summer with kids that work great. 4-5 hours is enough and they will catch a lot of fish. Keeps them entertained.

thanks

she is doing really well

the biggest frustration is that she really cannot tell us about her day

but she is one of the happiest kids you'd ever wanna meet and her math and reading skills are in line with expectations for her age/grade level

Great news.

In my experience, the three best predictors for success are:

1. Cognitive abilities.
2. Verbal communication.
3. Involved and determined parents.

You have at least two of the three. I am expecting big things from your little girl!
