Ok, that all may be true. It has nothing to do with what I said about many of the locals having never interacted with a black person.
Juneau is a whopping 0.9% black, so a little more than 200 people, in the second largest city by area in the entire country.

Add Alaska to the list of states that Mississippi doesn't give a frick if they like them or not. Seriously, this state has some fricked up things about it but I really do like how the politicians and citizens just don't care what other people or states think about them.

It's more about the fact that America has moved on from slavery and that is what the rebel(N.VA battle) flag represents. So it has no place flying above and representing a state in our country.

Second largest by area means nothing. About half of that is permanent ice, some is water and most is vertical. Living area is consolidated in a small area. We have black folks, but they aren't of the same culture you have in the Deep South.
It's not the black folks pissed about the flag. It's the white "do gooders" who frick everything up for everyone with their faux sense of social justice.

I think we more or less agree with each other, just aren't on the same page.
I realize it's the white guilt warriors pushing this shite, I'm just pointing out the irony of making an issue of it when you live in an area where you don't even have an opportunity to be racist.

It's always those types of people pushing these issues. They're the same types who move to Mississippi in the Teach for America program to teach at public schools because they want to help the poor oppressed black children..and within 2 months end up being more racist than any Mississippian or quitting their jobs

There's a house down street from my parents that always has teachers in it doing T4A. The first week or so when they move in you see them running around dusk all carefree.... Then they learn that shite doesn't fly after about the 3rd time I promise I don't think I've seen a single person stay longer than a semester there

Well, only 200 ppl our of 32,000 who live here signed the petition. Unfortunately the vocal minority usually cry loud enough to get their way.
