So your whole logical reasoning is they wouldn't let Chris Black play because they were worried he might get injured (a concern they seemingly had for no one else that played in week 1, including Alex Ross).

Then, when the outcome was no longer in doubt, they put him in because he wanted to play, despite holding him out for most of the game because they were afraid he would get injured? In essence changing their minds for no reason other than "lol time"?

That's what you think the coaching staff was up to? Really?

He only played week 1 in garbage time. Next week he will play a lot more bc it will matter. Give him some punt return reps is not real playing times

He played in the second quarter in week 1.

By all means, keep trying to enlighten us.

I too think Black not playing is suspicious. I have a feeling the staff doesn't think he works hard enough during the week. I have a feeling the same is true for Strong. I respect hard work, but put the best players on the field.

No way they were protecting him from injury. He would have started and then played sparingly after. By doing the opposite, they are sending him a message IMO.

And before you come back with how well our receivers did, it was against Eastern Michigan. Pretty sure Black would have killed them too.

Johnson has been the starter all year. This isn't something new. He's a better player. Much more explosive. Black will play. He was in the game early, just not targeted. He's a solid veteran WR and he'll help us.

Wingo and Johnson were always going to be heavily involved. This ain't some nefarious plot by the coaches against Black. He'll play, he did play.

You guys realize he was on the field yesterday right?

When?

Black was announced as the starter for the slot, but it's clearly Johnathon Johnson in the slot to start. Then Wingo.

How do you know he is a better player? What he did yesterday? I'm not saying JJ shouldn't play, just find it curious. Whatever. We all have opinions. And Black barely played yesterday.

Unless we have another #1, he was on the field for at least two series in the first half.

Thanks. I also read a little bit ago that he had some key blocks. Nice to see him being mature and not trying to be the hero.

Black had a series in the first half that didn't look like he was even trying.
It kind of seemed like he knew the ball wasn't coming his way and didn't even bother really running a route. May be wrong, but it looked that way to me.

I rewatched the first half (which is about all I got recorded due to the channel jumping frickery) and finally saw him in the game with about 5 min left. Mizzou pretty much just ran the ball. Johnson and Wingo clearly came first in the rotation. Yet he was the listed starter.

All 3 are listed as OR starters. With all 3 having had a really good game so far.

I accuse JAGsports of being a secret Vols fan. No Mizzou fan is this dumb.

P.S. damn, I love those orange hillbillies. So much fun on the Rant, they so stupid.
