This.
If there's this much drama, I hope he signs to wrestle for Ohio State. I still see a "dad problem."
Reminds me of the eye-batting, antebellum belle who just can't decide which suitor should take her to the ball, while the beaux swoon with faint hope.
frick him.

What drama are you talking about? The only thing his dad did was set the announcement day.

Sounds like the belle didn't pick you.
Kid is having an announcement. He wants it on TV.
Welcome to recruiting

bullshite. If every kid did this it would be a circus. Except he's not doing it his dad is. I bet he made up his mind a while ago. His dad has been having weekly meetings with him for months. He keeps moving the date around while he does interviews and basically milks this for everything he can. Jesus fuking Quintana. Make a decision, announce, put it on tv if you want. Porter didn't have any trouble with this at all, and he's #1.

Exactly! Said it much better than I did.

Why not let the kid and his family enjoy the recruiting process? He will probably ever get to experience anything like this ever again in his life.

He wants to announce on TV. Who cares?
Tons of kids do the same thing. I'm sure he already knows where he is going, just like the other kids who have hat ceremonies. He hasn't moved the date around to my knowledge

They are free to do what they want. My kid got into a really competitive college program. I could go post about it every day on social media and "enjoy the process." But everyone would be silently judging me. This isn't any different.

Relax man. I'm not a big fan of all the TV and hat picking but it is what recruiting has become these days. In the bigger picture, his dad ain't that bad and comes off pretty straight forward.
And what parent has "meetings" with their kid? My guess is they talk about it and tons of other shite every day.

It's actually quite different because no one outside of your circle cares where your kid is going.
Really weird some people are getting so bent out of shape about this. This is what A LOT of high profile recruits do.

Ummmmm, 808's last name is Babb so I bet you do care. Beyond that, yeah, I do care and would ask but that would require asking for IRL info which I won't do. And beyond the beyond....that was kinda dickish.
No, really dickish.

That's a fair point and the point at which the analogy breaks down (as all analogies do).
But these kids and parents think more people care than really do. 75% of Mizzou fans can't name Knox by name. He's "that one top 10 kid" or "the other 5 star we're after." If they feel better having their commitment on the teevee, good for them. I don't even really care all that much anymore.

I wasn't trying to be a dick. Was just making a point. Good for the young man, and I wish him much success. Truly.
Just pointing out the difference.

I hear ya. I'm sure if I hear the tone of your voice saying it, it would have been all cool. But just the way I read it, it seemed a bit harsh. My bad if I took it wrong.

I didn't take it as you being a dick. All good. And it's a girl, but no big deal.

He just comes off as overinvolved. He seems to be the one doing all the talking and all the enjoying when it should be his kid's moment. He also seems to be dragging it out as much as he can. Just my take on it. It's not that big a deal. I'm sure wherever he goes dad will have to fade into the background.
Have no problem whatsoever with Jr. I bet if it was really up to him he would have just announced on twitter a couple of weeks ago.
