How about the blocking by our receivers? Pretty damn good all day long.

You don't play for Hill unless to get dirty in the run/screen game.

The TEs are much improved as well.

It certainly eroded under Washington.

It was great for JJ. Not sure I noticed it from anyone else but it must have been OK to free up those TEs a few times.

Wideout blocking under Washington was great when he had experienced players.

Coaching matters, but not near as much as having talent and experience. That's 1 of the reasons I think the defense will be good within a year or 2. There's young talent there. The starting back 7 in 2019 was on the field Saturday.
LBs Brooks and Miller
NB Bledsoe
CBs: Acy and Sparks, though Holmes, Alton, and Petry could be there as well.
S: Ulmer and Gillespie.
You could also include Williams, Turner, & Whiteside on the DL.
This seems more like a case of 2015, but it's the defense that's now super young.
BO has to get to 6-7 wins now though, to get the chance of coaching experienced players he brought in for his defense.

Agree to disagree. When he ran out of guys that had spent 3+ years under Hill, it was all garbage.

Well when he ran out it guys that had played under Hill, there was no experienced players.
In a 2 year window Mizzou lost all the WRs with experience.

Maybe Washington wasn't a good coach, maybe the players just needed experience.

Hill didn't have any experience last year and positional blocking was better than it was at any point in 2015.

Like I said, agree to disagree.

Hey, Nuke...does Hill get the credit for all the dropped passes last year by the receivers and them having problems shaking press coverages by teams with decent defenses.
Example: Florida and LSU

As opposed to 2015 when they struggled to come down with the ball vs Arkansas State?

How about Rountree? Guy I liked alot during the recruiting cycle. Didnt rip off any huge runs, but thought he displayed alot of patience in his running style. Setup his blocks well, and had a couple of runs where he made a nice jump cut behind the LOS when the hole the play was designed for was cut off. Once for a 1st down, another for his TD run. Think he's going to be a good one.

I like what I saw with Roundtree; mostly north/south

I didn't see nearly enough of him to get any clear indication either way.

I like the fact that you can't find much daylight between the ball and his body when he changes direction. If Strong ran like that we wouldn't be talking about Rountree.

We need a couple of Mizzou receivers to double as safeties.
