I recently was cleaning out old files and found one about MO State's haplessness a guy sent me a couple years back. I found it real interesting.

In the 20 years 1997-2016, they had 16 losing seasons and 4 winning seasons (all were 6-5).

During this time, Randy Ball lasted 7 seasons (of which 2 were winning)...and Terry Allen lasted 9 seasons with 2 winning (losing records his last 5 years)

Stec has gone 1-10, 4-7, 3-8, and 4-7 (Also 0-1 so far this year.)

Guess they've been rebuilding for 30 years or so. Why?

Why has no coach there not taken FBS transfers? That’s the path to winning at that level. Take chances on players that either got in trouble or weren’t good enough at P5 schools.

That how North Dakota State got going.

That strategy has also helped Northwest MO have the success it has had.

Steck stated this was part of his plan for success during his first recruitment cycle. It just has not happened very much.

He does have a K-State transfer on his D-line this season.

Sports aren’t the same but Evangel, Drury, UCM and Northtwest all have national titles in basketball. Mostly on the backs of D1 transfers.
