What are you more bummed about? The way FB went, or the Dixon thing?

Honestly, I had a gut feeling there was more to the Dixon thing than what was being let on. I kind of expected the worse.
I'm still bummed about how the football team finished. The hype leading into this season was bigger than '08. Which was also a huge let down.
Damn this shite blows.

Love basketball but personally prefer Football. This FB season definitely feels worse to me. Even though we lost Dixon, I still think we will have a very good season. Jabari will come in rusty in the beginning but then he will be fine. As for Football I am kind of hurt as to how that shite went. Sorry but I am not going to accept some shite happening like this next year.

Bummed about the football season. I expected to make a splash coming in.
Kinda bummed about the kansas B1G rumors too.

Why? They will continue to suck at football, and probably won't win the B1G in BB every year. Plus, I guarantee, if they go, we'll start playing them again.

I think the FB season was more disappointing.
I'm not sure that folks had the same expectations as '08 though. Most fans I talked to expected around a 7 win season in our first year in the SEC.

Not so much the expectations record wise, but just the hype. I was pumped. Big let down.

Don't care about playing them, don't care about their football team, don't care about them winning basketball.
Do care about them potentially playing New Mexico State for a conference title someday.

Lol. They were never going to the MWC. Too much BB tradition.
I'd like to play them again. Kinda sucks not having a real rivalry.

Gotcha. No doubt.

It wouldn't bother me one bit not to play kU again, and that rivalry was ugly. It'll be interesting to see if they go to the B1G - this latest grab of theirs seems to be about media markets (Washington DC, New York and now Atlanta), not sure what kU really brings there.
I'm more upset about football, after thinking about it. With basketball, we'll still have a good tournament team, and should win most of our games. Dixon will be missed for sure, but we'll be OK. And looking forward, he was a senior and the future looks bright.
With football, I'm concerned about where things stand. There was another report from Jay Barker in Birmingham this morning that the administration supports Pinkel, but the boosters and alum want him gone. Well, actually they want Yost gone, and Pinkel is refusing that move and may just resign. This turmoil is terrible for the program, and obviously has an effect on recruiting. And that means we could be in a bad situation for years to come.

Pinkel has become the biggest travesty at MU. Until he is gone, nothing else is close.

Where did you see this? So there actually is discontent with the boosters? Honestly after Alden said no changes I just went back to my original thinking in that people were just content and nobody would question anything. Maybe our boosters understand what the stakes are and its our Admin that needs to catch up.

Easily the Mike Dixon situation but its not at all related to sports. We're talking about the livelihood of people. If its true than at least two girls were sexually assaulted which is terrible. If not true than a young man last a bright future which is terrible. This is bigger than sports.

I'm sure there's just as much discontent with the boosters as there is with the rest of us. People like a winner, and everyone in Missouri expected more out of this season.
He's earned another year, if only for the fact that he did take over a dumpster fire when he got here and turned it into a decent program.
The pressure will be on the next coach to take it to the next level, and I think taking an extra year (if necessary) to get the right guy in is important. An extra year for Pinkel to right the ship, or to take some extra time in the next hire is important.
Probably goes without saying that most people are not happy with losing seasons.

I agree with that, but the thing that scares me is that our fanbase sometimes has such low standards or expectations. I am glad that we are legitimately putting some heat on them. Honestly I think we give Pinkel one more year. If it doesnt work out, get Charlie Strong in and tell him he can have it all here.

This.
So we lost some games and did not make a bowl. If Dixon was assaulting girls it is WAY WORSE than a crappy football season. Well said Mizzou23

Very good point. And you're absolutely right. I was thinking from a sports perspective, not a broader life-impact perspective. In that context, the Dixon matter is worse, hands down.
Per the 2010 police report, he told that poor girl "You know you want this dick." Really? Come on, man. Note to all the guys on this board - add this one to your "things not to say unless you want to be a douche canoe" list.

Why are people still talking about Pinkel? He's coming back next year. Confirmed.
Why are we still pondering if he'll resign before next year?

Because Jay Barker was speculating about it on his radio show this morning. Despite the confirmation, he's still hearing of the discontent with Yost. And that Pinkel is still resisting pressure to replace Yost.
