You noted that other teams were using the protests at Mizzou for negative recruiting.

Now close your eyes and imagine if we kicked the protesters off the team.

Yep. No win situation. If you kick Moore off, then good luck recruiting that 4* or 5* WR from ESL who probably relates to BLM.

I would narrow it down to 5-6 that can play at the SEC level and only 3-4 that are "elite" 4 or 5 star players.
Next year there will be much more depth.

Yepp. And I thought Ofodile was supposed to boost in state recruiting with his ties to the local high schools. We've had nothing but kids committing elsewhere since he joined the staff. I know he's not the only one to blame but just something I've noticed.

Odom really needs to lock down the state, even if its not as talented as other states or its on the rise. I still think as the top dawg you have to lock down your state. LSU didn't do it in our down period.

Dinardo actually started the locking down and Saban completed the lock down.

if you kicked them off the team it would be a short term pain. I think Odom could spin it properly.

its a tricky tough situation. I think in the long run though you are better off handling the protest and crushing the team revolt.

You get the boosters back and happy and then you can move on.

That is when it becomes key to work with high school coaches, get them to defuse the situation and understand that it is better for everyone to work with mizzou.

also you can get wrs from other places besides east st. louis.

It is a tough situation all around, you have boosters on one side, players on the other. Its why you punish the leader though and most players fall back in line.

you do outreach with high school coaches. Then again anyone that is BLM isn't really going to listen to reason, also might be for the best to not have any BLM around the team.

I don't know the difference between SEC level versus Big 10 or PAC 12 level but 2016 had 20, 2015 had 19 and 2014 had 25 or so (though 1 was kU which hardly counts).

I'm not saying they all turn out to be studs but they were talented enough coming out of high school to garner P5 offers and commit to a P5 school.

What the hell does the protest have to do's with this team lack of talent? If that's the case I better not see another union worker on strike.

This team can't tackle, they are young and because of lack of talent they use a gimmick offense.

Oh God, Protest, facilities blah blah blah, Lovie Smith just got 2 of our targets and the Nubs took a 4 star. The problem with recruiting is the selling.

Read the kids comments on why they choose schools, "They believe in the coach," "They want to be a part of building something." With our success we should be able to land very solid 3 star talent and 4-5 4 stars a year.

Whether Petrino at Louisville, Herman at Houston, Mac at Colorado or Schnellenburger at Miami back in the day, coaches "sold" the dream to recruits.

Don't blame the protest, AA families that I've visited with do not view the protest as a negative. They know racism exist and every once in a while it will spark an outrage. Hell, the year someone put a lynch on a statue at Ole miss, they had their best recruiting year, OU didn't suffer after their n*gger video was made public.

We have lousy recruiting because we have lousy Recruiters.

This teams talent is fine.

They just played a top 5 talent in the country.

Mizzou can hang with everyone in the country besides a handful of teams.

People are overreacting in a big way.

The only problem with last night was the dazed attitude from so many players -- but then I guess that fricking mystic of that venue might have some validation.

This shite is more embarrassing than the game.

You people are insane.

Barry went out and brought in immediate needs with grad transfers and juco guys amid the worst turmoil in campus history.

And he brought in a decent class.

This team is young.

Barry has recruited just fine.

No wonder it's so easy for the ruling class to own you sheep. Holy shite.

It's really no wonder Clinton and Trump are where they're at. People are stupid.

Talk about a mind for mediocrity, under what measure short of total delirium do you see BO recruiting just "fine?"

No impact DL's, no RB's with size, lost 2 locals to Illinois for fricks sake! His best recruit last year was a late signee who other schools didnt think would qualify, otherwise no way in hell he signs him. All this where even the average recruiter should see a "bump" because of new staff.

You are Supremely idiotic.

You're legit nuts.

In the middle of total chaos, and as a first year coach, he brought in a former 4 star grad transfers at RB and WR from two extremely reputable programs.

He brought in one of the best LT's from juco in the country.

Those were the immediate needs and he got them through free agency.

He flipped Crockett, who's very good. A 4 star RB with size.

The local we lost to Illinois would be nice to have, but he'd fill the same role as Jeff Thomas, and that's who we're laying the red carpet down for. We have to be selective in who we promise the world to.

I'm supremely confident you're the idiot here.
