This years Missouri's recruiting class absolutely baffles me.

Is the lack of rated recruits in this year's class due to the fact 'it just is what it is' and these players will be coached up and all is well?

No it's because we fricking sucked last season and if I were a recruit I probably wouldn't want to play at Missouri either considering the lame stadium and coach with a doubtful future.

I'm as diehard a fan as they come, but compared to the other SEC schools, there is practically NOTHING that would be appealing about playing at Missouri

There are people saying this will be Pinkel's last year. Is this the underlying reason for (at this point) such a disappointing class? Recruits waiting to see what happens?

Our stadium is not THAT bad.

Columbia is a pretty cool college town. There are other SEC schools that aren't as cool of towns.

There are plenty of reasons for a player to want to come to MU. Like a the great track record of developing QBs, WRs, and the recent success with guys being drafted.

It's a fun offense, that is definitely appealing, which is why we get talented play makers on offense.

I think this is it. Too much uncertainty around the head coach. Pinkel doesn't have the contract widow coaches usually have, and this is basically a statement of non-confidence by the AD. I'm certain that's being used against us in recruiting. Recruits are waiting to see how this season goes, and who the head coach is going to be.

Oz, who knows? IF the scuttle is to be believed, money isn't going to be an issue, and they will go after the best they can get. Rumor is that among the big money boosters, Kirby Smart is the first name on the list.

I've also heard great things about Mark Hudspeth. Some people mention Petrino, but I don't see our AD considering someone with his job history and reputation.

Who do you think should be in consideration, should we find ourselves looking?

Always hire the resume for best results.
Mark Hudspeth is an up and comer. Coaches in the SEC command loads of respect and are paid the highest amount of money.

our AD has literally a 180* viewpoint of this

hire on character and perceived potential--ignore resume

Team will win 8-9. Pinkel will stay another 3 years. Henson will do well over that time and become the next head coach.

That'd be nice. Can't wait until the first game to see how the offense plays. I know they'll win but it'd be good to see the blocking, catching, execution, etc.

Lame duck coach, an offense that has not produced many NFL quality OLineman, and a Athletic Department that does not "get" what it takes to win in the Big 12 let alone the SEC

I bet Henson would be a really sought after head coach if he did well as an OC at Mizzou. Why not make him ours. This is dumb to even talk about now, but just saying.

The guy has the look of one of these up and coming guys. He's got a unique ability to be really well liked by the players and respected by them. Being a players guy and the bossman is difficult. His likability and demeanor help him pull it off. He's a southern gentleman and talks like a football man. Seems like a perfect SEC coach. Just sayin, if he does well for 3 years, this will be discussed a lot.
