This board is a little nuts to me in that even the suggestion of an arrest means somebody needs to be gone. Kind of stands the whole legal system on it's ear. Now a question for you. Say he's charged with domestic assault but is exonerated at trial. Then what?

Well, here's the deal.

I'm drunk cause it's my Saturday, and it's opening day at Busch, therefore I jump to conclusions.

As for the rest of you fricks, well there's no god damn excuse.

Also, I will not be bringing anything else to this argument other than drunken rambling a.

Who has said he should be gone already? I know I haven't.

Tough call on the exoneration. Personally, I don't think it quite takes a conviction to boot someone. The burdens are and should be higher in criminal cases where you're talking about taking away someone's rights and freedoms. In this context, we're not taking away a right, but rather a privilege as I see it. But still a good question that I have no answer for.

Here's the thing.

Convictions take a while. Court systems are what they are. I think the whole Mizzou family thing is there to help a student athlete eliminate themselves from situations where prosecution is even a possibility.

If a player keeps putting themselves in to situations where laws are being broken, their guilt doesn't mean much, they're not living up to the code of Mizzou football.

Besides the situation I mentioned before, I've never been in a situation where being prosecution was a possibility (with the exception of driving after potentially having a few too many.)

I think that's the point. Stop being there when shite goes down whether you created the situation or not.

When was the last time GP suspended someone indefinitely?

I support the indefinite suspension, absolutely.

He needs some time in the timeout corner, regardless of how mild or severe the truth ends up being. If its on the severe end, he's gone. If it ends up that the girl was not harmed, and it was mostly shouting with some mild pushing, no charges pressed ect then he serves a suspension and stays.

Enjoy the buzz.

I'm pretty sure he's suspended kids indefinitely since DWash. It just usually doesn't last that long.

And in DWash's case, once the investigation was complete and the coaches determined he was likely guilty of the felonu, based on what he told them about what happened, they dismissed him. But there's a big difference between what he did and what is being said about this incident.

Wasn't MUBobby more active dealing with DGB's recruitment and TTRaider was more about the move to the SEC?

Don't think so. MU"Done Deal"Bobby was the dude with inside info. To his credit, we probably were verbally offered a spot in the B1G at that point but then decided to hold out for immediate full membership.

This is the stance I take in all these discussions. I very much prefer being a fan of the school in a power position than the people that like to say we were turned down for Nebraska.

Big 10 Offers Junior, we say frick it.
Nebraska Says they can afford it to get out, accepts.
Mizzou goes to the SEC and tells the Big Ten that always assumed Mizzou was guaranteed to frick themselves.
Mizzou is better.

It's weird, because I was conflicted. Since I arrived in Columbia, it was all but guaranteed Mizzou would go Big 10 once the Big 12 thing failed, and everyone knew it would. I just figured the Big Ten was the place to be because that's where Mizzou was going to be. Being from Illinois didn't hurt either.

Glad we are where we are, but I was a big Big 10 person, but not for the reasons most people assumed (being from Illinois.)

Either way, go SEC.

As a pilot in the Los Angeles Center area, I probably trust you more than I should.

You just handle SoCal Approach right?

Ms. Mizzeaux will be working on her PPL soon, and I imagine we'll be flying to RBK/F70. If that's part of your deal, I'll be sure to give you a heads up.

Well, if you're coming to French Valley, let's have lunch.

Make sure that's her pit stop.

They've got a good French Dip.

We'll talk shop.

Pretty sure if it's French Valley it's the end of the trip and we're hitting the Chick Fil A near the 15 and going home, assuming they have cars at the FBO. I'd love to talk over a Chick Fil A sandwich, though.

Old Ms. will wonder who the frick you are, but I'll pretend like we know each other from back in the day and aren't some internet dorks.

Word.

If you fly on my day off you won't need an FBO car.

I'll gladly escort you around the beautiful town of TMEC.

And yes, we'll act as though we are back in the day friends.

But it would be funny if you said, "Honey, this is my friend Remote Controlled, from the Internet. Get in his car."

When I was in high school my stepdad almost became the General Motors rep for Southern California and that entailed living in Temecula because GM was too cheap to have two reps for SD and LA, so that was the place.

We got the full tour back then, and I like it. I'd much rather live in LA or SD, but if you have to between the two, there's no better/other place than Temecula.

My understanding was that we knew the offer was coming. In other words, if we wanted it, it was a "done deal," hence MUBobby's posts, and we apparently HAD indicated we'd wanted it. Also, a conference doesn't offer unless the answer is for sure, yes. It is the culmination of discussions.

When the offer came, we asked if we could think about it, since it was a junior membership, not full membership, and that part took us by surprise. Remember how these things work. The Big 10 couldn't have been happy that we didn't immediately say yes, and we couldn't have been thrilled that with junior membership we would lose millions of dollars in revenue, which we weren't expecting. The next day they offered Nebraska who accepted immediately, and it made MUBobby look like a liar when he'd had good info.

Life is almost never a straight road for any of us. We often end up loving the place where we end up, but not necessarily loving the way we got there. That's kind of how I feel about this. I love being in the SEC, it's already paid dividends, and long term is nothing but advantages.

There is also a benefit to being in a conference of straight shooters, even if you don't always like the answers. Slive is a straight shooter. No qualifiers, no games, no misrepresentations, and full membership from the get-go. IMO, we made the right choice.
