This thread started from the mubobby post which said pushing and yelling, no hitting no charges. So it would make sense that's what he was referring to. And yes we don't know and if there's hitting then it's a different situation.
We need to rename this board the unfounded conclusion board.

My whole point is that if it was a domestic violence call all that would need to be shown here in Las Vegas is some sort of mark or something to be visible that would lead the officer to believe a physical altercation happened and the person involved that was opposite the person with the mark would be arrested and prosecuted.
That's not an abnormal situation in many places. It's more the rule than the exception.
Whether or not this was a domestic violence call is an unfounded conclusion I've made based on other posts.
Here women know you can claim domestic violence, show a mark and have the dude arrested. There are many situations I've heard about where there's absolutely no way out and the only real course of action is to show that you were also hit and have her arrested as well.
Here, if it's domestic, someone's getting arrested and the only real option is to make sure she gets arrested too.
Thank goodness I've never been in the situation, but I've heard many bar stories and even seen it play out on episodes of Cops shot here in Nevada.

Ok, wasn't sure if anything else was being reported. As much as I trust much of what mubobby says, he's still just a message board poster. Wasn't sure if media reports had come out with anything more one way or the other.
And not sure if you were referring to me or not, but I haven't come to any conclusions. Everything I've said are all huge what if's.

What, exactly is the "situation"? Is there any clarity on it? Shouting match? Kicked open door? Push? Hit? Any idea?
From the mubobby post it sounds like mostly shouting.
The girl isn't pressing charges, I'm sure she has no physical harm, otherwise charges would be pressed.

It's no different here. If the cops show up and there is a mark somebody get's arrested, but that's still a long long way from somebody getting prosecuted or convicted.
It just looks like nothing much will come of this, but yeah none of us really know (unless one of you is DGB?)

I'm responding because I feel like Grits here, bringing up nonsensical shite in a thread that has nothing to do with something that happened in Nevada.
So here we go.
If dude was just arguing with his old lady like college kids do and pushed the door open when she did her thing and tried to kick him out of the spot he should absolutely be okay.
Some nosey neighbor butting in and calling the cops shouldn't cost the kid his life. Likewise, if that's what happened and Mizzou made an announcement that he's been suspended for this situation, I think they're trying too hard to make this program cleaner than it ever possibly could be.

Question for ya COU, and I don't know myself that there is an answer. Let's say DGB pushed his gf down a flight of steps. She got beat to hell, cut up but nothing broken. DGB gets arrested. GF later files an affidavit of non-prosecution and the charges are dropped. Little or no doubt that he did it, but just no charges. Does he stay or does he go?
I ask this because you're right about it being a long way from being prosecuted or convicted. I also ask because I'm aware of those exact facts playing out and there is no denial of what happened, but all charges dropped.
So does everything hinge on prosecution and/or conviction?

I don't know about you, but a lot, if not most guys have had an altercation similar to this in their life.
Welp, no.
I've been through more than most of y'all, and I've done my fair share of bad shite.
But I've never had a moment where I wanted to act out on a woman. I've been close, but no.
That shite ain't happening.
Like I said, if he did, farewell fine prince.
If he didn't, stop putting yourself in these fricked up situations.
I've been in a lot of fricked up situations, and I've never been to jail, and most importantly, I've walked away from all of them.
Someone needs to let this guy know, it's not only millions of dollars at this point. He's headed down the wrong road.
Hard headed youth is one thing, this guy shows a pattern. He's a special case.
In the military we had a place for special cases, and they either got over it, or they got out.
Time for GP to deem his diamond recruit a "Special Case".

Not directed towards me, but I know the policy here is that domestic is prosecuted no matter what because people can't be compelled to testify against their spouse and can't be expected to file charges against their spouse either, so the state takes the lead in pressing charges in domestic violence situations.
Missouri is different than most states (like Nevada) in that apparently the powers that be, whether that be city or county authorities, can make the determination to press charges or not. Here I've heard that domestic cases are prosecuted no matter what.

Nothing of this magnitude happened, at least from the sound of it, so I'm not sure the point of this hypothetical.

Well just as a disclaimer none of us has ANY say on this but my opinion would be.
If there was yelling and minor pushing, I agree with sleepy. A lot of us have been there.
If he pushes her down a flight of stairs or hits her then he needs to go AND needs to be charged.
But I don't think the prosecutor's office would see this much differently so you probably can go by the charges.

Still waiting on the full story to come out, but from the sounds of it shouting and maybe some very mild physical stuff is what happened.
A lot of guys, and it's probably safe to say most guys have been in similar types of situations, but everything is magnified with this kid, which of course is something he should consider before doing anything.

I once had a time when Ms. Mizzeaux was on some fricked up birth control and got drunk. She started getting mad for me talking to my friend more than her and she acted out in the car on the way home. I was punched twice in the car, and finally got so pissed when we got home that she slammed the door on me. I pushed the door open while she was standing there trying to block it, she threatened to call the cops because she knew she could and she was hormonal enough to do it.
I knew I was fricked if she called the cops because I'm the dude and dudes beat women. So I took her phone from her hand and left hoping that the time it took for her to find another phone would let her chill out.
I left her phone on top of the back wall and left. She cooled down and I showed back up. She still wasn't happy, but we figured it out.
We also switched her birth control later and she's been fine except for that one incident, but if I hadn't had the presence of mind to eliminate the cops from the situation I'd have been arrested and prosecuted, and that sucks.
If it's one of those type of situations, I'm 100% on DGB's side.
If the cops were called, I'd have been a woman beater. If I was a kinda-celebrity, it would have been even worse.

This board is a little nuts to me in that even the suggestion of an arrest means somebody needs to be gone. Kind of stands the whole legal system on it's ear.
Now a question for you. Say he's charged with domestic assault but is exonerated at trial. Then what?

Missouri is the same in the sense that the DA can still bring charges. It's simply a determination made by the DA if the victim doesn't want to press charges that it will be hard to convince a jury to convict when the victim is a defense witness. Even if the victim files an affidavit of non-prosecution, they can still charge. They just choose not to.

Thanks for sharing that, Mizzeaux.
I think a lot of guys can relate to that situation in one way or another.

When was the last time GP suspended someone indefinitely?
I'll give you a hint. Derrick Washington.
You can sit there all night and tell me that he's being represented irresponsibly, and I'll tell you this.
There's smoke.
Dude has been in trouble before, granted for things we all have done.
Now this, if you think the suspension is just because of nothing, then I'm going to quit taking your opinion into consideration when it comes to things like MH370.
Which you haven't chimed in on BTW.
Anyway, dude is fricked, he's shown a pattern, and he probably got drunk and beat his girlfriend.
Also, we're going to the fricking ACC.
frick it, put that shite on Twitter.

My point is, is it all contingent on being prosecuted and/or convicted or what if it's widely believed, understood and acknowledged that he struck the lady but no charges because she doesn't want charges filed. Does DGB get a pass because of that?
