Well, nothing happened this week, and apparently Haith has no notice from the NCAA. Yet. But this article came out today.
U of Miami article

Yes, it's from the University newspaper, so take it with a grain of salt. But, if by some chance they're right and Haith gets a show cause penalty? Is he done at Mizzou?

I would think it would depend on how harsh the penalties would be. I really don't know what this show cause penalty means though.

Seems like a very Mizzouish thing to happen.

Go after Painter, not get Painter.
Get surprised by an off the wall unknown hire.
Fanbase freaks the frick out.
Rumors of unknown hire having issues with the NCAA.
Fire Alden.
Shows some skill on the sideline.
Unknown hire has a good year, but with the last guy's players.
Loses in first round.
Fire unknown hire.
Lands some transfers and recruits.
Unknown hire is good.
Fanbase is behind unknown hire.
Rumors of NCAA trouble prove to be real.
Mizzou gets trashed for NCAA violations at another school.
Fire unknown hire.
Go after big name coach.
Make unknown hire.
Repeat.

If we must fire Haith over this, Tim Fuller is ready to take over.

Yup. Give him the Interim HC title and see how he does for the remainder of the season.

The way I understand it, if a coach is given a show cause penalty, any school that hires him during the duration of the penalty would be required to "show cause" to the NCAA as to why they shouldn't be subjected to the coach's penalties. Typically, they're very restrictive and would basically keep a coach from performing certain aspects of his job, like recruiting. They normally keep a coach from getting another NCAA job for the duration of the penalty.

I'm not sure how it would work in this case since Haith is already employed. That's why I wonder, should this come to pass, if we could even keep him. Fuller is an interesting option.

And yes, it does seem like a very "Mizzou" thing to have happen.

I don't know how it works either but it seems very unjust to have it impact a university that had hired that coach before it was known there was an investigation much less a show cause order issued. I can understand it for prospective universities looking to hire a coach, but not one that hired a coach in good faith not knowing of potential problems down the road.

I actually agree with all of this! Mizzou eats absurdity for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Let me be honest for a moment...I seriously question why I'm a Mizzou fan sometimes. No joke.

We are the little engine that couldn't.

I have complete confidence that everything will be fine.

I also have my nut cup on.

I think our show cause could be that we hired him before the investigation started? Maybe not.

Put on your nut cup.

For Bogie and myself, would this be like a reinforced sports bra?

I didn't want to say anything because I got it from a second hand source.. but a few weeks ago I heard Haith was as good as done. They apparently have proof he gave money or knew of money being given out.

Seriously? Well, shite. I've heard rumors about this too, but it was a while ago. Hope we're both wrong.

Eh. I read that as sunshine pumpers hoping that nothing happens to Miami. That, to me, is really far down on the list of probable outcomes.

If Haith and Mizzou get dragged into this, there will have to be new, unknown-as-yet and substantiated claims that are systemic in nature. I don't have any sources, that's just my take.

Go with the cup. Even women could be hurt by this if the junk kickery is as bad as it seems it could be.

I seriously don't see how any reasonable (lol) organization like the NCAA could really go after Mizzou though. It's not like we created a position out of thin air to give Haith a parachute out of Miami before the shite came down.

No, they wouldn't go after Mizzou, but if they go after Haith, we'll be damaged by the penalties that will follow him.

Maybe I should just go with body armor?

I have decided to buy full body armor...I can use it on any public outing. Also getting my CCL (conceal & carry license) before it becomes a thing of the past.

I support both of these ideas. And if nothing else - the thought of Bogie and I both being armed and dangerous should fill people with extreme anxiety!

That movie was classic! And I kind of like the idea of Bogie and I running rampant across the virtual world, wreaking havoc and leaving a trail of broken hearts, humiliated idiots and rustled jimmies in our wake!
