Look. I don't have anything against SLU. I wish them well. I just don't care about them. This is a Mizzou board...for discussing...Mizzou sports.

Yeah, then Mike Alden should grow a pair and schedule them.

Part of the apathy that's beset the program is the lack of rivalry games. And since the XII rivals aren't coming back anytime in a decade or two, Alden would be smart to schedule rivalry type games people would care about. He won't though, so it's a moot point.

Hopefully, the next coach can repair the damage to hoops passion that's occurred under Alden by assembling a team people care about, since rivalries won't be part of the rebuilding. Otherwise, maybe the next AD will be up to the project.

Bottom line is that game would draw a larger attendance than IUPUWhatever. .01% of the fanbase is interested in a game against IUPUI. I'm sure at least 25% of the fanbase would at least have some interest in a game against SLU. Same could be said of Missouri State. If you're going to play lower level teams, at least schedule lower level teams of interest. And yes, as a program, SLU is lower than Mizzou for the smart asses that want to say SLU is a better team. One year a program does not make.

SLU and MO State probably want home and home series. MU holds those for schools like NC State and UCLA. Schools like IUPUI get scheduled to fill in the home slate without having to return the favor. SLU and MSU don't provide any recruiting help either. If SLU and MSU would agree to always play in CoMo, I would think MU would be open to scheduling them. I could be wrong though.

ETA: Reedus, the other day I misread a post of yours. Sorry about making you repeat yourself.

I don't know about the admin, but I heard with my own 2 ears the SLU coach say he'd do a 2 for 1.

Re ETA: Not even sure which one you're referring to but no worries my friend.

Wrong. This is the "Missouri Board" for discussing Missouri sports.
