And French fries with mayo is actually good - but I learned that in Europe, not Missouri.

Same here. I've never known anyone in Missouri to do this. But it is good. I prefer honey mustard on my fries though.

I'm in the neighborhood. I don't like to get too specific on the interwebz. If people knew who I am I would have to bring the language down to a less intimate level.

ETA: Villa is a true piece of Springfield living folk lore. People who went to school here and return seem to always have to visit Villa while in town. The sauce is great for incorporating into recipes.

I prefer Mexican Villa hot sauce on my fries. If I don't have MVHS, I prefer honey mustard.

Aux Arc

I understand. I don't give any info out either (except that I live either in or close to Springfield). Everyone already knows that.

Wanna go canoe sometime at Hootentown before the Summer is over?

It is good, Reedus. I think I first had it in he Netherlands - they called them frites, and street vendors sold them. They were amazing. Missouri has a lot of German influence, and that may be where we get that reputation - their potato salad usually has a mayo base, so serving mayo on fries isn't a leap.

Flat Branch serves a horseradish sauce with their fries, and that's my all time favorite.

Been to Germany, they call it "pommes frites mit mayo". Actually not too bad after you have had several wiesenbiers...

I went to the grocery store hungry because of this thread. Never go to the grocery store hungry....

When I make the mistake of going to the grocery store hungry, I end up with things like Oreos, potato chips and donuts. None of which I like to keep in my house, because I will destroy them like a fat kid in a candy store.

I try to go when I'm not hungry, so the snacks I get are popcorn (not the crappy microwave kind, the kind you pop on the stove), fruit and yogurt.

My tailgating tradition generally consists of me calling a few random people that have a passing interest in Mizzou and inviting them to the local Mizzou alumni party for drinks and football to try to get our numbers up so we look decent in comparison to the pricks from West Virginia that have their parties in the same place and always seem to be 100 deep and loud as hell.

Then I eat some crappy chicken wings and go home.

That's really, really sad, Mizzeaux. You need to make a pilgrimage at least once a year.

I agree with SEMO, you need to make it back more often Mizzeaux. Especially now that I think we're getting enough people on the rant we could actually put together a solid tailgate or get together

We run our own business here, so it's tough to get time off. When we have the time off it's extremely difficult to convince the missus that it's better in Columbia than it is on some Caribbean beach. To be honest, I completely agree with her and only give a half hearted attempt to make the trip. The thought is there though.

Maybe once this thing really gets going and doesn't require our presence we'll be able to get out to Columbia every once in a while. Until then, it's off to battle the couchburners at the bar.

I'm hoping for the SEC to sign a low level contract with the Las Vegas Bowl and make it easy, but I'll really hope Mizzou doesn't drop that low in the bowl selection.

This is the greatest guy gift ever. I use it at least twice a week, except I throw in jalapeno slices with the kernels.

I might be up for a float sometime. Or are you really a serial killer trying to lure me to a remote location? Damn internet. Maybe we should start with a beer or a round of golf or both.
