Despite the struggles I think we're moving more in that direction than further in the hole.
I can say with 100% confidence that this is incorrect.

I clearly think it's Troll JAG day. I've Been KA biggest supporter but now I'm the biggest hater and y'all are his biggest supporters

I'm not supporting him at all.
He's awful.
He's been awful.
He will be awful.
Firing him now changes absolutely nothing versus firing him after our last game of the season.

Still do not want.
Sampson would be a disaster hire. With the NCAA already sniffing around they would just set up an office in Columbia if we hired him. No thanks!

That's fine. I could definitely be wrong. I don't invest much time in following basketball.
From the outer ring it just seems that at least we've brought in higher quality people to represent the program.
Realistically we shouldn't have expected to land high level talent over this problematic period -- at least decent people were brought in. When I say a clean foundation, that's mostly what I'm talking about.
I don't know anything about basketball other than how to play h-o-r-s-e, but it seems like we're gonna live or die with outside shooting -- balls aren't gonna drop every night and we don't have alternative ways of winning, tonight was that kind of night.
You fire KA now and you take away the 'father figure' who brought in each of these kids and you risk things spinning out of control again. I'm not opposed to moving on after the year if there isn't improvement, but there is a significant reason to have him run the show till the end of the year.
My uneducated bet is we steal some games in conference play and show signs of improvement -- which may not be enough, but at least the next guys job should be easier, which was the realistic goal all along.

I don't think Mizzou is as far away as you think. Phillips, Hughes, Puryear, Walton, Smith, Nikko, Jackson could be a solid nucleus if the next coach can bring in a couple talent upgrades.

Given our current coaching, the talent level is not high enough to overcome it.
I'm not sold on Jackson or Smith or Nikko.
Phillips could be really special the next two years. Walton is a little enigmatic, but has some talent. Puryear is a good piece of the puzzle. But he shouldn't be the leading scorer at a P5 school. Hughes makes me question if he can be consistent. And not because of his performance. Because of his mechanics.

I'm glad we have CVL. He played 35 min and was 1-11 from the field

Yea they clearly need a couple of guys added to them and a couple years of development. Add a scoring wing and post that can get points in the paint, the rebuild doesn't have to be that long.

I hear ya. I am just shaking my head in disbelief. I'd say a couple of guys, couple years of development AND the right coaching and the rebuild doesn't have to be that long.
Truthfully, rebuilding should be shorter in basketball than any other sport. One or 2 key targets can change an entire team under the right coach.

Yea I just don't want anyone thinking that it has to be a 4-5 yet process.
Keep this core together, develop them and add a couple grad transfers. Could make some noise next year.

That's a little too optimistic. But two years and we could be competitive and in the top half of the SEC with the right coach.

Doesn't make any sense to fire him now. Middle of the conference schedule sounds about right. I hope Sterk is working on a plan. I wonder if we could get Jacobson?

Absolutely pathetic.
Also, I disagree about firing KA now. Fire his arse
It sure as hell would be a huge boost to the supporters and donors, of MU, knowing change is coming.
This shite show has to end, and soon.

Referring to the assertion that the AD who we just hired should be fired this morning if he doesn't fire the basketball coach.
But if ranting based on nothing more than your misinterpretation of what I posted gets you off, have at it.

I didn't. Your assertion that the recently hired AD should be fired is reactionary at best and lead paint chip eating stupid at worst.

No, but it's about a plan. Just fire him is not a plan.
but it looks like he needs to go
