You need 2 guards. That would be the opposite of the 2012 team with 1 guard and 4 forwards.

Idk about Jontay, I think he's still a work in progress. He got as much hype as he did because of his brother. When I saw him, I didnt think he was that great.

Barnett is a 2/3. He can, and likely will play mostly the off guard next year.

Jontay is exponentially better than Nikko.

I dont like JB at 2, 3 yes.

A couple friends have watched him more than I have. They always said it was obvious MP would get double-teamed and JP would always have the much lesser "big guy" guard him. Most hs teams dont have more than 1 guy about 6'6 so i can see where he gets this look from.

Hopefully his AAu was different.

Jontay is 6'11" with a college ready body with a pretty polished offensive game. Has back to the basket skills and a pretty good jumper. He's every bit deserving of his high ranking and without a doubt a day one starter on this team.

Every where I see has him between 6'9 -6'10. hints why I thought he was more of a PF

I'm not sure Barnett has the handles or the consistent jump shot to be a 2. He's a 3. Him and Puryear rotating at the 3 would be great.

Roberts spelled by Hughes and some CVL would be good. Roberts can maybe play some point when Philips gets into foul trouble.

A front court of MP, Jontay, Nikko and Tilmon would be pretty good. The kid from Utah probably needs to find a new home. Not sure how Mitchell Smith fits into it all.

Smith will be better than Nikko. He's more athletic, a little taller, and way more skilled. He just needs time to get a college body.

Why he got kicked off the Virginia team I have no idea. But if his head is on straight he could give us a great one year run.

Not sure why he got kicked off their team, but I listened to a national CBB podcast around that time that said the consistent knock on him is that he doesn't really like basketball all that much. He's always been tall and skilled so he's played all the way growing up because that's what he was expected to do. But he doesn't want to play all that much.

May have been conjecture on their part though. I have no knowledge of the situation other than what I heard on that podcast.

I just mentioned him because he could give Mizzou more next year than just about any freshman post player. Grad transfer may also be a better way to go to get experience, size, skill, and class balance. I think as a junior Smith can be a quality P6 starter. Not better than a guy like Tillmon.
