If it's just because of weather, they just scared the shite out of my daughter and that pisses me off. They walked her back and told her to stay inside. She's been brave through it so far but now is scared to take an exam tomorrow.

On my twitter feed there are lots of "pray for Mizzou" comments, and remarks of scary things going on there, but nothing specific. This is crazy.

Probably so. Guess I feel better that at least the cops are being proactive even if it is a bunch of trolls. 3 hours ago she had already known about it for some time and told me exactly that, that it was a bunch of trolls. I'm sure that's all it turns out to be.

Was just talking to a friend whose daughter goes to Mizzou with my daughter. She said her son spent 4 years at Mizzou and as far as they know, had never been on lockdown once. According to her, this is the third time this year. To be honest, I don't recall the others. Did they lock it down in any fashion for that bomb threat? Can't remember.

MUPD is aware of social media threats and has increased security. Investigators are currently working the case.
On twitter, saw a clip of some crazy person walking around shouting obscenities. This may be who they're looking for.

I hate to say it but I am worried things are going to get worst before they get better. They need to start arresting anyone making threats even if just trolling.

If you guys have twitter just search mizzou, all kinds of stuff from this app called Yik Yak. Basically it's an app where people anonymously write things that "can't be traced" and there's a ton of threats saying things like "don't go on campus tomorrow" and "Mizzou will really make national news tomorrow" and "I'm going to shoot every black person I see tomorrow"

So the dude that was crazy and looked drunk was actually on campus? I couldn't tell since the video was so dark. Did they catch him?

Uh.. this is a national story, it's made it's way to 4 Chan it's made it's way through here, it's made it's way to reddit.
That invites all types of people with all types of motives to incite/cause fear/ignite the situation.
People thinking it's funny to waste the time, people wanting to escalate the 0 racism situation, people wanting to even potentially make the area look poorly.
Additionally there are anonymous means of doing this like the messages posted. There was another incident of a bomb threat posted on that site in december as reedus posted earlier, was that guy caught? That will give us a clear picture on whether using that portal is even traceable or if they are able to comply with law enforcement requests.
Not every person doing this is operating at the same level of network intelligence and masking where it's coming from, but if you are going to put something out like that you are more than likely going to hide your tracks.

They can be traced. Just need subpoenas. I'm sure MUPD already has them.
