I would like to propose that anyone planning to attend a Mizzou football game should be required to attend a Chiefs game at Arrowhead and agree to learn how to do it right. If everyone isn't involved in making noise on third down and other key defensive downs, it isn't working. I notice people around me (alumni side) not making a peep the entire game.

A Mizzou fan training camp is in order. Right now I'm afraid we are welcoming opposing teams to the "Petting Zou".

I second this. Also, what the hell is the deal with shaking your keys? Has this always been done?

Our fans are shitty. This isn't really news, and sadly it probably won't change.

I laughed my arse off when you could clearly hear the crowd chanting "Block that kick." in the 2nd half. The place was dead quiet and you could tell it was just a small group. I haven't heard "Block that kick." chanted since high school. Maybe it's done at all games but I don't remember it and I will NOT chant that. I'll make noise, but I ain't chanting that.

I have actually seen fans hesitant to stand during crucial moments for fear that the old grump behind them may be put out by it. Let's get all these old rich folks some comfy boxes and let the loud rowdies take over between the 20's in the first 50 rows.

And I didn't realize about the key thing. They wouldn't deign to make such a ruckus on the west side.

Put a convincing product on the field and the noise will come. We're the sho-me state for Christ's sake.

I look at Mizzou and KC as very similar this year. both are 4-0 teams coming off disappointing seasons and neither has played much tough competition. Arrowhead was insane last week. Faurot was not. Both are in the Show Me State.

Arrowhead is going to be insane all year 7-1 or 8-0 for sure. Mizzou will not hold serve at home, our home field advantage is pathetic. The problem is clearly half our fanbase are baseball first fans and don't understand how football games work.

Sorry that was a weak troll attempt, good luck in the playoffs cards fans but please don't wear red to mizzou games

Amen I've been saying this for a long time now. The alumni waiting to take their seats two minutes before kickoffs is shite. Then when they get there they act like they're auditioning for a role in a haunted house and sit there like a bunch of zombies. If you don't want to go stay at home and watch it on T.V. We have the worst group of alumni in the entire nation and it's not even close. Granted the student section has had some poor performances, but it's hard for us to make up for 35,000 empty seats on the West Side of the stadium.

This isn't unusual in the SEC. I know Alabama and Georgia have similar problems, probably Tennessee as well. Both fortunately and unfortunately, the waiting list for season tickets lasts a long, long time. So by the time people actually get them, they're in their 40s and 50s and feel above making noise (which I can respect to an extent). Just know that LSU and Florida aren't the norm, but the exception (and I would never want to be their fanbase)

Being Loud Doesn't Help

I call BS on this. If a QB cannot effectively audible the advantage goes to the home team. Merely being loud may not help, but being disruptively loud has to.

Rice fans chant this at basketball while the other team is at the free throw line. Unless you've spent some time at Rice you wouldn't get it.

At least the alumni side is full of people, unlike the student side on too many occasions.

A&M has the same problems. Mizzou is the same as every other school.

Wrong! It doesn't matter if you just show up and act like you're in church! Stay at home and watch it on T.V., and you won't have to worry about the elements such as weather, traffic, travel,.... The student section is irritated to look over and see the alumni ditching the second half if we are losing big (i.e. the entire Alabama game nearly 2012). The alumni completely take away the home field advantage from mizzou by doing this

Sorry bub, but it's not the alumni side that leaves during losses or blowout wins. You can rant all you want about it, but they stay way way way more often than the student side. Especially now with the no re-entry rule.

Did you really bring up the Bama game? Papaaalease. Everyone left, and I'd bet there was more non students in that stadium than students.

This is a picture of our faithful mizzou alumni out in full force a few minutes before the national anthem for the Arkansas St game. I had to get a shot of this for you guys since you think I bull shite about the alumni being crappy. Nothing like striking fear in your opponent, or getting in their heads before kickoff when you look up and see that! Arkansas St has more people in their section than the alumni have in their section!
