Go back to his time here. Start listing JUCOs and transfers.

People bailing on Anderson should just find another school to support. That includes Semo. That is stupidity at its best.
We have tried the other methods. Lets try having a real coach and see what happens.
I hate when people say shite like that. Just because someone doesn't like a certain hire they should bail on the entire school? That makes zero sense. I don't think anyone, including semo, 808 and myself want Anderson to fail, much less the entire school.
At the same time, if a hire doesn't move the needle for a person, it doesn't move the needle. I have plenty of options on where to spend my disposable income. Mizzou basketball just isn't going to be one until they put a winning product on the court. That doesn't mean I don't want them to win. Of course we all do. It just means this hire created little excitement and certainly not enough for me to send them my money, spend my time or drive the miles to make games.
I will also stand by my stance that if this were Mike Leaf, no one would feel the same way. There are plenty of guys who one could say is a "real" coach, whatever that means. Hell, I saw some good CYC coaches that taught great x's and o's and taught the game with great integrity, even took the "Coaching to Make a Difference" class, but it doesn't mean they should be coaching a D1 team. Hope it works. Call me when we're in a Final Four game.

Refusing to support someone who hasn't even had a day on the job is ridiculous and stupid. Bitch about Alden if you hate the hire.
Mizzou fans refusal to support the program is a huge part of our problems.

How do you define support? I don't wish ill on Anderson and the team. So in that sense, I support them. Does the fact that I've never attended a women's soccer team mean I don't support them even though I want them to win?
I do agree, my bigger hang up is with Alden and really not wanting him around to make the next football hire.

I don't like women's soccer.

Kelly Thames on radio. Former players excited. Need Missouri players on team. Thinks it would be great if someone like him or Tate were added to staff.
Peeler REALLY wants to join staff but up Anderson.
Thames coaching at Pattonville High School in STL.
Corey Tate at Mineral Area Community College.
Not really much. Nothing discussed about Fuller.

I like the hire, I wasn't crazy about it at first, but the idea of playing solid defense and an organized offensive plan excites me.
I am admittedly "old school". When I played basketball, defense and rebounding came before anything else. It was annoying at times, but it made me a better player.
I believe these guys all want to be coached on some level. Some more than others, there will be those who refuse to be coached up.
I think a coach who is capable of coaching guys up, with a strong defensive base, and a plan on offense will be successful as long as he gets guys who buy in and stay longer than 2 years at a time. I think that's the key.
Give it a shot, see what happens. It won't be worse than Haith's teams I'm sure.

Everyone keeps saying this and no one will quantify it. If we're at .500 at the end of year 3, how many more years does the D2 experiment get?
Well it's probably going to get three years no matter what.
It's probably going to start out rough, mayber very rough if we lose our recruits. But do we see steady improvement or do we see a steady slide like Haith?
I think we will see a steady improvement.

I would imagine that the record will be worse after three years but that isn't due to the fault of Anderson and not a credit to Haith.

I bet its not. Haith was a bad coach, with a lacking gameplan and little to no game coaching skills. There were so many games last year that a well coached team wins with those players. The 4th quarter collapses told me all I needed to know about FH.
It was almost like he'd call a timeout and tell Pressey to dribble around and either make a bad pass or shoot a 3 with a man in his face. Then tell everyone else to stand around and watch him do it.
I walked away from Pauley Pavillion last year thinking Haith was still a good coach, and that the poor play by Pressey at the end of that one wouldn't be tolerated again the rest of the season. Instead it got progressively worse. It was easy to see that Haith didn't get it.
This season, I couldnt tell you anything about, because there wasn't one game that I watched. I didn't need to. I knew where the team was headed after watching last season.
Remember, this is still the SEC. It's not a real tough league. There's no reason to not be in the Top 3-5 teams every year, with the occassional shot at being 1 or 2.

Since I got my rage out of my system yesterday and sent an email to Alden communicating it, in the light of a new day here is what I think.
1. In one way or another, every basketball hire Alden has made (and a case can be made for women too) has failed. Either that is incredibly bad luck or it's Alden. I think we need to hold Alden accountable, and maybe his time should be up at Mizzou, but I doubt that happens in the next two years.
2. Kim Anderson, by all accounts a good and decent man and a loyal Mizzou guy (the kind you love to recruit to play for you) is taking the brunt of this. It's not his fault he was hired. He has wanted this job a long time. I need to find a way to get through my anger and disappointment and love my team (his teams) again.
3. There was clearly more going on between Alden and Haith than the public knew. Alden's history with conflict is to do a freezeout. We've seen it for sure now with Snyder and Haith. He wouldn't even take Haith's call for heaven's sake, and we know how he fired Snyder. Does anybody think that's appropriate?
4. The word is out in the coaching community, and many coaches don't want to work for Alden. The ones that did definitely have histories, like Floyd or Howland, and Haith's NCAA problems may have resulted in a mandate to get a good citizen coach.
5. We'll be stuck with Alden for a long time. Why? The football team is doing well, and that is the straw that stirs the drink, especially in the SEC. Also, the move to the SEC masks certain problems. Empty basketball seats? No worries, SEC money is going to gush in to save the day, especially with the SEC Network here just in the nick of time.
6. I have a list of things that were wrong with the Anderson hire, too old, can't recruit at D1 level, etc. But I refuse to be one of those guys who actively roots against my team so the coach will be fired. Those people don't love our school. We can still have high standards and hold everybody in the food chain accountable.
7. If Kim Anderson proves my deep concerns wrong I will shout it from the rooftops. I am a Mizzou man first and foremost. I don't want my team to be a laughingstock, I want them to succeed by going to the tourney every year and threatening to do more once they get there. I want them to succeed with good recruiting, hard work, character and discipline, and not have the program run afoul of the NCAA. Do those things, and I will be a happy fan who will throw all of my support behind KA.
This is the place we are at. This is our fork in the road. If we don't like it, we can take the left exit and not put up with it anymore. Take the right, and there is sure to be disappointment and heartache, but maybe, just maybe, our team will one day make us proud to be Missouri Tigers fans again.

I found your problem. You care more about what everyone else thinks than what is best for Mizzou. We aren't a blue blood. Some will always make fun of us/you for that. Who cares?

In one way or another, every basketball hire he has made has been a success also. Snyder and Anderson made Elite Eights, which is as far as Norm got. Anderson won a conference tourney title. Haith was National Coach of The Year and won a Tourney Title, and he was the WORST coach of the three by far.
I wasn't excited about K. Anderson, but I'm on board now, because I'm a Mizzou fan. The guy will run a coherent offense and they'll have a plan on defense that isn't terrible. I'm excited about that. Can he get some decent players? That remains to be seen, but if he keeps Fuller on the staff (which it looks like he intends to) then I think Mizzou is a lot better off than they were two months ago.

That is only one of many considerations. Respect from others is not a bad thing, and in fact gets donor monies and respect from other coaches who would want to work here. Do you not see the value in that?

Making an Elite Eight does not mean that we have a great program. Mid-majors make Elite Eights. Missouri has never been to a Final Four, ever, and we are not consistent. That is a problem.

There's no way Anderson's record will be better than that in 3 ways. None.

That's a good point, forgot about that first year record.
That's pretty sad really, the last couple of his teams were so disappointing they made me forget that the 2012 team was so good.

If KA can get to 20 wins in either of the next two years, he will have overachieved. I think people are overestimating what he has to work with.
