Standouts:
Puryear & Walton, both guys can score and rebound. Wouldn't be surprised if both started/played heavy minutes.

Phillips needs to be stronger with the ball, both in ball handling & passing. But he does a good job getting the team in the offense.

The JUCO guys are why more physically built than the other guys. Hard to believe that Woods and Gant are the same size.

Sounds like Puryear has performed well in the scrimmages. Good. I'm not expecting anything from the freshmen. If they can contribute, it will help a lot.

They had the teams split so that it was basically the veterans vs newcomers. Newcomers won.

Didn't see any 3-man weave at the top of the key.

The offense basically started off with both bigs setting a stagger screen at the top of the key.

I don't know what kind of range Walton has, but he can get to the rim and finish. Although if he can't hit the outside shoot, which he didn't attempt, that drive will be shut down.

Well if this ain't a sign of the times. I read the thread title and the first thing that went through my mind was "Oh yeah, the women's team scrimmaged tonight."

Thanks though wubilli. Will be interesting. Though I'm still more interested in the women's team right now. They have 2 top 50 players as true freshmen. I still think they'll finish middle of the pack in the SEC but it will be fun to see who does better, the women's team or the men's.

Yea the top 50 women's players really didn't try doing a lot. It was their older sisters that played well. Bri Porter hit several threes, last year all they would do with her was player her in the post. Lindsey Cunningham had a solid all around game probably had 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

I would be shocked if it were more than 1,500 as far a attendance.
