PowerMizzou

I just read through it and it was pretty well done. This is the biggest key to success in this conference. If our recruiting was better, then injuries wouldnt be as big of a factor. I like some of the players we are bringing in this year, but the fact is we cant be content. We need more. Thoughts?

Yeah I thought it was really well done. I cant wait for our facilities, stadium, etc. to get up to par. We really need them.

I dont mind taking a couple, as a few have panned out. But we can no longer rely on that. Its time to step up and get done what needs to be done.

I personally think if Pinkel reassigns some duties and brings coaches in that can recruit, this ship can be turned around. I think it is imperative though that he can bring in people who can recruit.

I agree, but I also realize it's going to take time. Unfortunately, coaches and their staffs aren't given much patience in college football today.

With this offensive struggle, we have to get somebody else in here for OC. The only thing I am worried about is that if we go outside of the staff, then we will have different terminology and at minimum a slightly altered playbook. Idk if people are going to be willing to wait for all of that to be mastered. If we stay in staff, then we have a real chance of running into the same problems that we do now. I really dont know what direction we should go in. Thoughts?

Very informative article from Pete. They do a damn fine job over at PM. Stripes, I think we need to get a competent OC with SEC ties that knows the league, and understands how to attack the beastly defenses in our new conference.

Although Yost is a POS OC, he is a good recruiter and the kids love him. He should stay on the staff in some capacity. There needs to be alot of pressure put on Pinky to make the necessary changes because we know he is much too loyal to a fault.

JMO... I think MU should look at hitting the JUCO's hard for the next 2 years while you establish your recruiting base in the SE. It would be a good way to get immediate impact players & build some quality depth.

It would give you a immediate boost until you can get your recruiting built up & also give the good young players you're starting to get a chance to gain experience & get bulked up to SEC size & strength.

You can't build a program on JUCO's for obvious reasons but they can be used to MU's advantage as a stopgap during your transition into the SEC...

Just a thought...
