Platooning QB's

I think it really backfired on OM last night. It seemed neither QB could get a rythm or feel for the game.
On the other side of the field, WOW. It was really scary if your an opponent, playing a team with two starting QB's and possibly three next year if Franklin had one more year. Printz I hear will be a good one and next years starting QB job will be up for grabs again. I'm excited to see this kid play.
But as far as Mauk and Franklin. I was impressed. I was really impressed with Mauk. He was seeing the field well. Franklin seemed to have alittle rust on passing the ball and pocket feel. He held on to the ball alittle too long at times. But to be expected after his time off. He should be great next weekend. He looked like he was starting to look like the old Franklin towards the end of the game.
But Mauk. What can you say other than we're in good hands next year. Should have had a TD on that drive but a crappy unwarrented holding call muffed that. But Mauk looked awesome. Dude had zip on the ball down field, just a beautiful pass to Sasser.
I think Pinkel is giving Mauk play time to keep him fresh and up to speed. It's nice to see he is not affraid to stick Mauk in for a series. I'd like to see it alittle more really. It really gave OM some trouble lastnight, change of pace.

I thought Mauk looked awesome in the limited time he was on the field. If Printz is as good as advertized, we are in great hands next year. Mauk should be the obvious leader as the starter heading into next year and let them duel it out. What an envious position this team will be in for the QB position, much like this year.
Even though Mauk has scared me some with his decision making in previous games, he didn't last night. That kid has ice in his veins and is really impressive as young as he is.

Mauk got enough playing time to get a feel for the game speed. While losing Frank hurt this was a great audition.
It should really help recruiting when they load up the video on Mauk.
Mizzou stacked - SEC farcked.

Yeah, Hugh Freeze totally F'd it up with his QB and clock management decisions.
What I love about Mauk is he immediately puts a defense on it's heels. His ability and willingness to throw home run balls and jump balls completely stresses opposing D's.
Franklin's game is essentially played within 20 yards from the LOS. Mauk's is twice that.
Tank is a great player, but Mauk could be another Drew Brees or Brett Favre.

Thats a great way to look at it. It really puts it into perspective. Your 100% on.
